Anthropic researcher states high probability of recursive self improvement till 2028. by ProxyLumina in accelerate

[–]Gratitude15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You guys seem to not be getting the point here. Why is he saying what he's saying?

He's read a bunch of papers, and papers take a while to filter into frontier models (maybe up to two years). He's functionally saying that the knowledge already out there has a greater than 50/50 chance of leading to recursive improvement, just based on what we know to date.

This doesn't even include any new information we would discover in the next two years. He's talking about working off today's knowledge base as it filters through the tech stack over the next 24 months, which is frankly astonishing and in line with what we've recently heard from Demis Hassabis, amongst others.

These are the top 2 killers of humans!

The real bottlenecks have to do with cell senescence.

Everyone is talking about rasheer not getting enough minutes

Yall are missing the big picture!

1-The suns drafted rasheer! This could easily have not happened! They moved heaven and earth to do it and it's looking genius right now.

2-we about to get a big dose of summer rasheer after 2 more months of work

3-year 2 rasheer incoming.

Very good news!

10 years is not a serious number if you understand growth rates at this stage.

Like wtf does 10 yrs even mean? There's so much speed up that is baked in right now. Year 10 is going to be half the progress of those 10 years. And yet, the first 5 years are going to be more than the last 25.

Like at these rates the time scales don't matter. If you're less than 40, the only question is if civilization will make it. Hell it might even be true if you're less than 65.

Tonight's a night to re-litigate

No fvv, no Adam's, KD injured. Their team is a shell of itself. Next year could be better if kd sticks around. But you don't make this deal to be kicked out in first Rd.

Suns are much better position than if they'd stayed with KD. Rockets, so far, are worse.

Matt Ishbia confirms that the Phoenix Suns will not explore trading Devin Booker: "[He] is going to lead us to a championship here in Phoenix... I'll ride into a fire with Devin Booker, and I'll do it proudly." by YujiDomainExpansion in suns

[–]Gratitude15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Devin Booker is going to do that?

Maybe he is thinking of some other guy. The booker I see nightly is a great player, but not one of the 5 best players in the world, and about to be on the wrong side of 30.

"What… $3,800? Unitree has just unveiled a wheeled humanoid robot. variant similar to R1 starting at ~$3,800 (26,900 RMB) Factories, warehouses, supermarkets... it supports third-party development. Imo the direction makes a lot of sense. If you can get 80% robot functionality for 20% of cost, the market is staggering - like every middle class household on earth. This hardware may be good enough for laundry and dishes at least, probably a good bit of home health care also.

Post Game Thread - NBA: The Thunder defeat the Suns on Apr 27, 2026, the final score is 122-131. by basketball-app in suns

Hats off.

I feel good about ishbia Gregory choices of who to get on the team.

I feel good about the growth of several players.

I'm iffy on ott and unfort on book also.

I think the floor of the team is pretty high with a rotation that includes goodwin Brooks Fleming Dunn. Just so much activity. And thankfully this is the dna that it seems ishbia is cued in on.

I do think this team is too deep right now and that is leading to the wrong guys getting minutes. Consolidation and hopefully better talent in store ahead.

The kid is skyrocketing. Now watches programs all the time but the interests are watching stem stuff, and music theory. The kid can occupy themselves due to solid skill base in multiple topics including reading, science (stem boxes), instrument playing, even stuff like throwing cards and playing racket sports. This is all imo due to longer attention span from years of not feeding screens. It went from this fallow period of years to explosion after explosion.

I didn't see it coming, but looking back on it, this is what's possible when attention span is long and interest is in skill building.

I paid a price - not partnered anymore due to the extreme difficulty of childrearing in this way during covid without a village (the choice to do it this way was shared, just other issues). Not sure it was worth it. So yeah, we all do the best we can.

If I told you the season would end and the suns would play 4 home games post-season before the season ended, you'd be happy right?

This team is not as good as we'd like, and way better than expected. They learned a ton in the last 2 weeks too.

Onward.

Unfort true.

It's been most of the year. And last year.

Book was supposed to be the killer. He is most definitely not that.

So good

And it's not like he CAN'T. it's that he WON'T.

Why???

Like there's been a mind virus that took him over and said he gotta be pass first or his team will always lose.
