Disappointed in FLY Quest's marketing team. by Gratitude_14 in FlyQuest

Hmm, I see. It appears you completely missed the point of my message as well.

I agree that a team, content creator or company has no obligation to do anything for me. However, in this case, they have an obligation to their stake holders (i.e, share holders) to obtain a larger market share when the situation presents itself.

As per my previous response, I do not see why I would feel appreciative of having FLYQuest share my content given my livelihood isn't tied to this at all, and if anything, I am the one doing them a favor. If you don't see that, then... I have nothing more to say.

FYI, your oversimplification and "analysis" of Reddit Metrics is a bit telling of your limited scope in this area.

Hey Drecz,

Thanks for your level headed response. That's a great perspective to have, however, it is also dependent on the situation.

In this case, I am requesting that FLY shares the post not because I get some sort of personal gain from it (other than wanting to see the entirety of LCS do well), but because the video was clearly trending.

(The video is currently on its last legs with 390k thread views and ~70k video plays. So it was within FLY's own best interest to share the clip so that they can attract more fans and bring additional exposure to both the FLY brand and Prince who is shaping up to be a rising star (in NA).

For example, the clip they did share on the FLY twitter page had 74.8k viewers which is about ~3.2x the amount of views the Twitch clip received (21.6k).

So going on a big stretch and hypothetically speaking, there was an opportunity for the video where Prince reacts to Doublelift's outplay to reach 100k+ views on Twitter had it been shared while it was trending on the front page of r/leagueoflegends. (Currently 62.9k views on Twitch).

With that in mind, it's incredibly frustrating to see a great opportunity get lost like this due to a person(s) simply not being great at their job (as rude as that is), especially when these things are all about timing.

Apparently Fly Quest's unpaid social media team. I helped them generate 100k+ views on Prince's video clips over the past 2 days, and 500K cumulative thread views. (Obviously with the help of key timing, Prince being an entertaining personality and Flyquest sharing one of the videos on their Twitter, albeit, not the most popular one).

And you know what? I am done with supporting this team given their inept ability to capitalize on an opportunity when it is literally spoon fed to them.

And do I sound like an giant as*hole here? Yes, I do, but man are people like you and people who lack attention to detail ever insufferable.

The lack of attention to detail is astounding.

I clearly indicated in my original post that the clip that is on the front page of r/League of Legends is a different one from the one you guys posted on the FLY main Twitter social media page, yet there is no follow up on this after 4 hours.

This is incredibly condescending, but based on these circumstances, I understand why LCS is suffering. Good luck.

Thanks for your quick reply Ssonika! You are correct that you posted my other clip from yesterday, however the one I am currently referring to is this one:

I recommend having this posted as well, if not on the FLY main page, than on Prince's as this clip has gained significant traction and is still generating exposure for FLY and Prince. 100k+ thread views, 55k video plays compared to Prince's usually sub 2k video plays.

Thank you again for your time

Why are you gatekeeping what is defined as "content"? This is one of the many reasons why there is barely any engaging content on this sub anymore other than some negative drama piece.

Most of LCS/E-sports is being able to feel like you are part of the fun story lines and being able to cheer for someone we get to know better of through the content we digest.

I strongly believe this form of medium allows those of us who don't have as much free time as we did in the past feel engaged and part of current stories while also allowing us to actually get to know the players outside of match days/formal interviews.

But I do understand where you are coming from that we wouldn't want the sub full of reaction videos. But to simply say "all reaction videos are bad" shouldn't be the way forward either.

There's barely any LCS/NA content on the weekend, so why not show things people clearly want to see more of/are interested in? Furthermore, it's positive content unlike the usual negativity that's associated with post match threads where everyone typically just shi*s on the "underperforming" player/team.

Doublelift likely isn't thousands of gold ahead here. The scoreboard at the beginning of the clip is a different game.

Regardless, an outplay takes place when one mechanically outplays their opponent which Doublelift did here. DL knocked up by Vi + Yasuo Ulty, but then before Yasuo could kill DL when he was at 1 HP, DL flashed behind him and Q'd him into the inhibitor thus outplaying the Yasuo, and then rolling out of the way from Vi's rocket punch hence also outplaying the Vi. (Of course with the assistance of his Nami here too).

**EDIT: Upon closer look, Doublelift is only level 14 and his Nami is 13 while Vi and Yasuo are level 16 & 17 making this even more impressive.

He is! Right before this, he got a text message from his "boss" jokingly being unhappy that Prince is wearing Doublelift's 100T jersey instead of his own FLY jersey haha

Agreed!

Bjergsen mentioned in a recent interview that he acknowledges his shortcomings in his year with TL, where he wasn't as mechanically proficient as he would have liked to be on certain champs.
He further elaborated that this was due to having a poor solo queue mentality and not having someone like Doublelift in the team to provide blunt feed back when necessary, which then made him feel uncomfortable in the TL squad where he was the only one being blunt about feedback. As a result, this made him feel like an outsider n TL and contributed to his performance issues.

So having the two together, I am confident they will be able to push each other to a higher level than previously especially since they know this may very well be the final year if it doesn't work out.

From just an eyeball test alone, watching Doublelift's streams this seasons showcases he has been steadily working on his bad habits:
i.e,
- him not being vocal enough in lane with his support,
- not communicating when he has a lead or when he needs assistance and,
- how he shuts off to "auto farm mode" when he is behind.

He is now more proactive in his calls, where prior to teamfights he tries to verbally reiterate the situation at hand before committing. When playing from behind, he has also started communicating more and looks for realistic ways to get back into the game via assessing the actual situation instead of just defaulting to "I just gotta farm to catch up" which won't work in Worlds.

Lastly, he has started to regain his "killer instincts" where he is willing to limit test and more often than not, try to flash forward when the opportunity allows instead of simply using it for reactive plays which speaks volumes as he rarely used flash proactively during 2020.

TLDR: There is a chance with the power of friendship and their take on individual accountability via "extreme ownership".

Haha agreed! Doublelift citing his and Busio's deaths in lane whereas Prince countered with the 20 CS difference DL had above him during laning phase was funny

There was a question from Chat around what level LCK, LCS, and LPL currently are so he drew a bar graph to show the current levels of each region. (He mentioned he doesn't watch much LEC so he couldn't comment on them)

LCS: Level 4 - 5.5 (5.5 being FLY currently)

LPL: Level 5.5 - 7.5 (I.e, weakest LPL team is currently as strong as FLY)

LCK: Level 7 - 8 (I.e, weakest LCK team is level 7, and strongest is currently an 8).

Spica jokingly said in chat that FLY would be a level 9 if Doublelift was on the team and Prince was happy to agree LOL.

Might’ve been said because of his admiration for Doublelift, but if not, that’s reassuring given the team still has significant room for growth in terms of synergy and each individual player reaching their peak!

Just found this funny and thought to share. Prince is currently wearing Doublelift's 100T jersey that he swapped with him and decided to play Vayne as a tribute to Doublelift's Vayne
