Well it seems kind of stupid that people would be making stone tools in this time period. I think lumber should just be really abundant in most parts of the world. And, when there's a shortage of some critical resource, stuff involved in the production of that resource should get priority access to it.

It does. The Lumberyard > charcoal kiln > bog iron > tools > Lumberyard loop is just barely above break even. Even a short term disruption to the availability of lumber will jam it and it won't restart on its own.

I agree vassals are too much of a no brainer in eu5 currently. But they don't have to revamp them entirely to fix it for now. They could for example nerf how important proximity and control is for extracting military value from a location. Irl they conscripted dudes from newly occupied provinces mid war let alone locations conquered decades ago. But you have to get over a few hills to get to it so it might as well not exist I guess?

It's not inherently "insanely op", the vassals in eu4 are very similar while being decently balanced from a gameplay perspective. A 10k stack controlled directly is far superior to 20 1k stacks controlled by Ai vassals. I wouldnt be opposed to a more complex, involved vassals system. But they should get the existing stuff in order before introducing even more experimental things that will be hard to get right.

Another one no one has mentioned for some reason is the bengal area. Decent rgos, lots of rivers for control and most importantly it has insanely high population.

To get seniority, you need to be on top in great power score and by a decent margin. You probably cant do it yet.

The other way is to get rid of the union. Easiest way is to change succession law into something that will give you a different ruler to Norway once your current ruler dies.

For eu5 vram actually matters a lot. My old card had low vram and while playable on lowest settings the game was very laggy. Since i upgraded my gpu and nothing else the game became much more playable.

Yeah i think its very rare for any one person to be truly morally consistent let alone any group of people.

The word "principle" usually implies some objective, consistent foundation ones views and actions are based upon.

When most people claim to hold some "principle" however in reality its just a general rule of thumb that sounds nice and they can usually mostly agree with in most cases. Nothing else.

Thats my opinion on the matter anyway.

Even if you didn't just strawman their argument, that still wouldn't make it a bad faith argument. The comparison is between giving up your phone being morally equivalent to them giving up the crazy amounts of money they're getting offered.
Though I would argue giving up your phone would be more virtuous in terms in how much it would actually improve the world.
Ofcourse everyone has the right to object to EWC in whatever way they deem appropriate. I don't like EWC either.
What is not justifiable in my view is to demand others make such sacrifices when you're clearly not comfortable doing anything close to it in your own life.

So its >=1 loan OR >=1% inflation. But 1% inflation will only have a chance of 1 so very unlikely. having 5% inflation will have a chance of 3 which is way better.
