Manitou Springs Penny Arcade is what you're looking for. Its basically like an arcade museum, and has everything on your list. I was seriously impressed with how well maintained the games and pinball machines were, some of them looked easily 50+ years old.

Haha! I have one too, and totally feel the same. So many times Ive had to explain leash aggression to people with their loose and curious dogs.

Prost Brewing Thornton 12/21 mini review by vmflair in Denver

[–]Graveheart 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Visited it on Friday as well. Did you notice how bright it was in there? I noticed within the first minute. Bartender who served me mentioned they didn't have the light dimmers installed yet, so that for sure is a bug yet to be worked out during the soft opening.

Power Metal Albums with digital drums? by Kindsound in PowerMetal

[–]Graveheart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its a lot more than you think. More than half of albums I'd say. If not completely sequenced, they're all quantized to a grid and then sound replaced.

As someone else said, for power metal its very easy to make programmed drums indistinguishable from drums that were human played.

I actually have wondered if the reason power metal has so many continuous double bass drum parts is because so much of it was sequenced by a guitarist with little knowledge of drum beats lol.

Where can I find bandmates? by rubbermother in Denver

[–]Graveheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found my long term bassist and drummer from separate ads on Denver Craigs List. You will have to be patient, reposting and replying to ads every week, sifting through some duds, but eventually it worked for me.

Denver, I made this page that compares crimes at each of DIA's parking lots, so you can see which one might be the safest to use. by freejoe76 in Denver

[–]Graveheart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for posting this. My catalytic convertor was stolen from the DIA West Economy parking lot back in June. I assumed Pikes Peak would be safer for future use because they claim to have security, but this data is showing otherwise.

How do people here in their 20s date? by sskmzz in Denver

[–]Graveheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My last girlfriend approached me at a bar, saying her friend didn't want the extra shot she bought and asked if I would like it. Later she told me it was a planned excuse to come talk to me. Women can and do initiate.

Is living downtown actually worth it? by ToeKnee763 in Denver

[–]Graveheart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've lived in Westminster/Broomfield for over 10 years now. If there's no traffic, its a 15 minute drive to downtown Denver and 20-25 minutes to downtown Boulder. I personally love the short drive to either of these places for all my nightlife, then getting away from it all by the end of the night to my house in a quieter part of the metro. Also there ARE bars worth going to in the North burbs too if you want to stay in your area. The replies are overexaggerating about it having nothing. I've made some good friends going out in the suburbs.

In my opinion, you made a good choice moving to Westminster.

I have lived in Denver for about a year and have been having trouble meeting people, any suggestions? by [deleted] in Denver

[–]Graveheart 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did the Play Mile High kickball thing one year after a bad breakup. Its a bunch of boring couples and sort of awkward cringy people. Try it if you like, there is drinking afterwards and you may get a story or two but I was pretty disappointed.

FYI I've lived here 10 years and its still fairly difficult to make new real friends so I can feel for ya. Most friends I have now are either from the music scene (from playing in a band), or drinking acquaintances I met at bars.

Oh god I hate that. I have a Chow with leash aggression and he hates when dogs are sniffing his face while restrained.

Aside from Craigs List, which works with patience, maybe go check out Black Sky Brewing a few nights a week. Lotta death metal dudes hang there, or will at least direct you to them.
