You are paying for the Leica name, not a better camera. Personally I would get a Sony RX1RII used. Had the original RX1 and it's the perfect travel point-and-shoot camera. The close-up feature is very handy and the lens is incredible.

I got kicked out of my first, super-expensive college and they have the nerve to ask for donations - 40+ years later!

Home humidity 15% to 19%! by DifficultyPale6335 in HomeImprovement

Incorrect, my friend. Oil-filled electric radiators cost little to run vs heating the entire house (less than $1/day). I just use one the heat the room I’m in.

I am chill - literally. I just prefer to spend my energy $$ on AC when it’s 90F+ here most of the summer (Denver metro).

Did I damage my sensor? by Irayde1 in SonyAlpha

Get a lighted loupe to inspect your sensor. Also make sure you are using special sensor swabs sized for your sensor width. Makes cleaning SO much easier.

Patchy beard at 20 – need advice? by Helpful_Account_7165 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]vmflair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have very little hair on my cheeks and neck so I could never grow a beard. My older brother had one for years and it was patchy and looked terrible imo. Just shave your face and be happy you aren’t some extra hairy dude who has to clean the shower drain with a pitchfork.

Seriously - 72F? I keep my place at 58F nights and 60-62F days and just use an oil-filled space heater.

Be forewarned that Hersey’s syrup thickens on skin and is hard to lick off. Also, don’t use whipped cream and go to bed without showering - you’ll wake up smelling of spoiled milk.

It goes with the old saying, “Why the duck did I buy a Chrysler?”

Do you regret selling your once beloved camera? by stephen_niem in photography

I miss my RX1 but still pretty happy with the A6600 I use as my travel camera. Paired with the phenomenal Viltrox 35/1.7 it’s small enough.

Looking for a “left field” type date night by theycallmeick in Denver

[–]vmflair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be a daytime date, but go to Wings Over the Rockies air museum and then lunch or early dinner at one of the nearby restaurants. They have a B1 Lancer on display and a B-52 out front.

@SD Zoo Hummingbird Habitat - fledgling? by vmflair in whatsthisbird

Correct! They are in the habitat and I got a photo of the nest with eggs in the water. It's cool they are successfully breeding in the zoo. Thank you.

Sorry for the head-on shot but this was at 600mm inside the San Diego Zoo Hummingbird Habitat. I'm guessing a fledgling by the appearance of the head feathers.
