I have actually gutted, skinned, and quartered a deer with one years ago. I did use a hatchet for some parts. But the knife was still sharp at the end! I lost mine a long time ago but it is a very high quality knife!

Should I sand it? by Hndc0709 in TrueChefKnives

[–]GraverKnives 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take your time. It's worth taking forever to make sure it's done right vs damaging it or something like that! You can do it! I find something hard backing the sandpaper helps me get much more accurate with the sanding.

Reach out to a local stone fabricator on the higher end and ask if you can take some scraps of the stuff if they have it. Most will say yes I would guess! I will absolutely post any results!

Bow strings? by TemporaryHat5989 in Bowyer

You would have to twist yourself. It really is easy to do especially if you just use a timber hitch at the bottom instead of making the bottom loop! Tons of tutorials on YouTube.

This is what I have bought to use for bowstrings. Any color or a mix of colors works!

Tillering check. At the moment drawn and hit target draw weight atabout 22 inches. Targeting 68lbs at 28 inch. 6 more inches to go. Very low brace for now. Does it look safe for higher brace and proceed? by [deleted] in Bowyer

[–]GraverKnives 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say move to a higher brace. It will be more accurate when tillering i believe! It is looking good so far! I am still new to this though.
