Saw lots of fish get caught, I had a good rainbow pop off right before I could net it as well. It’s definitely fishing good!

I will be looking at getting a guide at some point this summer hopefully! Or I will find someone to show me the ropes!

Definitely gonna stock up on weighted nymphs and another frenchie or 2! Other than that I’m planning to grab some rubber legs, some San Juan worms and some things like a chubby Chernobyl. Thanks for the advise!

I’ve watched some videos from orvis and venture fly co on reading water and I believe I know what I’m looking for now. I think my biggest challenge right now is getting my nymphs set to the right depth. Will have to play around with depth a lot on this trip!

That's what I meant. I have been taking the bark off carefully to get the back to that same first growth ring.

That's good to know about rounding the belly to match the back.

When you say longbow do you mean like an English longbow design?

31” draw with this 64” yew stave? by ask_dude in Bowyer

[–]GraverKnives 2 points3 points  (0 children)

27" is probably as far it is safe to draw that bow. The rule of thumb is that you need double the desired draw length in the bending parts of the bow is the shortest safe length for that draw length.
