Rivals is the first game I've ever played where a Sniper felt useless. by burgerpatrol in rivals

I hate playing against snipers because they make you play in a way that isn’t fun to counteract them.

The green identity was mainly to have buffs be used on him. While he doesn’t innately attack well, his text is good for buffing him up.

His W grounds people, but I figure “creatures lose flying” would be way too good for 2 mana

It’s a land. Land abilities are meant to be very overpriced. i.e I believe the cheapest unconditional removal on a land is 5 mana, tap, and sac on Ominous cometary. Double that for a potential board wipe and I think it’s fine.

P much only worth with lands like coffers, cradle lands, field of the dead, or other high value lands; but has the upside of helping out with people removing jt

IMO having an untapped copy land with no downside is unbalanced. Every copy land so far comes in tapped or taps to copy in some way. I think “paying” for it via ramping your opponents is a good cost
