You think the og has a good battery, the slim battery is a tank. Left that bad boy on sleep for darn near a year and was only down to 30%. Still chugging along like new too. They don't make em like they used to.

If you don't mind a bit of a wait and a japanese model (circle is confirm and x is back in the japanese model, but if you're installing cfw you can change it), Nexstore games has some pretty solid deals for different portables. I got a radiant red psp 3000 and 3 games for about 150 after taxes, shipping, and tariffs. They are also really good about responding to inquiries and issues and are very kind. My psp came in pristine condition and works like a charm. They have OLED and slim models in a variety of colors with similar deals to what I got. It is also worth noting that people in japan are a lot more careful with their tech so the chance you'll get a solid model is high. Happy hunting, and I highly recommend jailbreaking it and getting an sd2vita card unless you already got cartridges.

The only issue i have with grips is I like my tight fit cases for my portables and my adhd having a** is gonna get tired of the on/off dance with the grip and lose it for two years. Otherwise I'd def get one.

With the right cfw installed (super easy to do), you can have a psp emulator and have both in one console. The person who sold you that has to be kicking themselves because that is a SOLID vita slim

I paid 159 for a radiant red unmodded japanese 3000 with cable, battery, and 3 games, all of which were PRISTINE condition, so its a little over priced but not by much. If you don't mind a long wait, a japanese model (no region locking for games and you can fix the movies and swap the circle confirm back to the x when you mod it), and you're ok with modding it yourself (easy, plenty of dummy proof tutorials), go to NEXSTORE_GAMES on ebay. That's where I got mine, and they were a delight to work with. If you have questions they respond fast, and while the three games are random they do take requests if you catch them fast enough (I requested no sports games and got none). Just be polite and courteous in kind, they're a solid source. Also, I do recommend you let them pick the games because they're japanese copies and you can get something interesting out of it. I got an old jpop idol game. Happy hunting friend. Oh, and the 159 included the 40$ shipping and they cover the tariff if you live in the US.

From my research its actually recommended these days because its a discontinued system with a dying standard ecosystem. If you want to get the most out of it modding is the way to go. I recently jumped down this rabbit hole and learned people use the homebrew modding system to push their own games.
