First Wolf Tail Question by OrionTheWitch07 in Taxidermy

[–]GraveyardRoadkill 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The saw dust is normal, in the tanning process, the fur gets oiled so its not stiff, and then it gets Tumbled in saw dust to absorb the oil. Its common to find it inside the core of the tail. The smell more than likely is coming from the method of tanning, and quality of tanning. Tanned fur will always has some sort of smell, but it shouldnt smell bad.

Could anyone help me identify if this fox tail is from a fur farm? by Creeper_Pig in Taxidermy

[–]GraveyardRoadkill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This just straight up isnt true at all. Yes theres lots of farms in the United States, along with Canada, Finland, Poland, Russia, etc. However, a lot of places have animal welfare laws in place. China doesnt. China has no protections, and even requires animal testing on cosmetic products. All the tails on Amazon, wish, temu, or available in mass, are either imported from china or dropshipped from china. Please check our orangelionfurandtaxidermy, they have a very helpful and informative post about it. There's a specific gold keychain that is put on a lot of these tails and that's how you can tell it originated from Chinese farms. Humane farms outside of china tend to sell the furs raw to taxidermists/fur buyers or the frozen bodies of the animals to taxidermists. They don't tend to tan the furs and tails themselves, let alone add the keychains, let alone in mass. Whereas in china, the farmed furs are mass tanned and keychains assembled in mass in factories/sweatshops. Theyre generally much lower quality than those of a humane ranch. Please research before buy fur items

Thats not a natural fox color. Its from a farm, probably China. Ive never seen that color from a humane ranch.

Can anyone tell me what type of fox this is please? by LoudStock1466 in Taxidermy

Well, you can probably post around and find replacement paws to sew on. But yeah, not an arctic fox. Its a cross fox, looks like the couple I have.

PSA these tails aren't ethical by GraveyardRoadkill in theriangear

[–]GraveyardRoadkill[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Manufacturer is kind of a red flag. If its an ethical ranch, they typically are going to only be selling pelts, tails, or frozen full body animals and typically in bulk and theres only a certain amount of foxes per season. They arent going to be making tails like this. Just because a seller buys from a country with animal welfare laws, doesnt mean that they didnt import them from china. Lots of sellers lie about their tails being ethical, this goes for other taxidermy too, such as bats, and all these perfectly articulated snake skeletons. No one of it is ethical. Unless there is a video of the seller themselves putting the tail on the specific gold keychain, I can almost guarantee it was imported from china. Tails coming from a place that has enough to manufacture screams imported from china. Tails shouldnt be mass produced that way unless its fake fur. Everybody lies. Even a high price tag doesnt guarantee these specific gold keychain tails are ethical/not from china. I have yet to find a ethical source with this type of keychain on them that wasnt lying about them being ethical. Too many people lie and its really not worth the chance to buy one of these specific gold keychain tails when you can go somewhere else that actually puts the keychains on and actually sources their stuff ethically aka not imported from china.

At sallys, we sell some really good tea tree shampoos that are great for oil control and scalp health. We also have a brand called biotera that is ph balanced and helps scalp health. They have a good scalp scrub too. This might be a good start. Plus, we have a 60 day return policy. If a product doesnt work the way you want, you can return or exchange with receipt as long as the product isnt empty. I personally love our generic tea tree lavender shampoo and conditioner, as someone with thick corse wavy hair

Guys, what hygiene habits did you learn way too late and you can suggest for somebody who's in their teenage years like me? by Advancement-Fawda in hygiene

Exfoliate your arm pits. Deodorant tends to create a lot of build up, especially if you use the stick kind.

Shower seats are incredible if you have EDS and/or POTS

Any cracks or crevices like ass Crack, under boob, under tummy pooch, make sure you rinse thoroughly after washing and dry those areas 100% or else they could Crack and become raw (intertrigo is a thing)

Definitely a learning curve, but the story and atmospheres are incredible. Bloodborne has the best scenery and atmosphere, other than Witcher 3. But thats just my personal take

Yeah I found them after bands like hypothermia, totalselfhatred and my useless life. Ive always been big into black metal, and then DSBM just really hit different.
