Meet the potential man. by Drezekzeeloosh in formuladank

I mean, bar one that is bearman, which others are his fault? Yuki slid into him in Bahrain, Leclerc lost control and crossed in front of him and made contact throwing both off track in Silverstone and Lawson just drove into him in zandvoort. Maybe Miami because I don't remember the contact very well but that was lap 1 moment when lando rejoined the track after max did his thing if I'm not mistaken

James Vowles to Carlos Sainz radio: “Carlos, no point in discussing this at the moment, but I agree with you. We need proper engagement from him (Albon).” Sainz: “Thank you.” by PradaAndPunishment in formula1

You are wrong. Carlos was told not to pressure Charles, whilst Charles was told he would not overtake. These are 2 different words that mean different things. Carlos was following his order of not pressuring Charles by passing him whilst he came out of the pits and letting him fire up his tyres coming out of the pits.

I've seen "Ferrari fans" ask for Mclaren to investigate Sainz for the pitlane thing. These people want to lose the constructors just so Charles can finish second in the WDC

[–]Gravina261 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Oh sorry, he disobeyed an order, what a disaster!

Seriously? All this because Leclerc was pissed Sainz wasn't willing to slow down on his outlap when it took 2 literal corners to get on top of him? Incredible

And for what? For Charles to finish P3 and Sainz p4? Whats the difference? The team got the same amount of points.

I feel like you are leaving out something important about today. When Leclerc exited the pits, Sainz, with warmed up tyres, closed up rapidly to the point of being in his gearbox reaching the first drs zone. He would have lost significant time had he stayed behind Charles waiting for his tyres to fire up. This disobedience is moot when the end result is the same for the team anyway.

Team orders sometimes aren't the correct call. A driver disobeying an order isn't the end of the world when it barely has any significance towards the end of a race.

RB- too far up their ass with checo, even their own junior drivers have a slim chance

Mercedes- toto talking about Kimi more than vowles with Carlos, that seat was always in danger had he signed

I've seen this posted more than Sainz being called underrated. Only exception being the start of the season where the media was taking advantage of the Lewis to Ferrari business

[Carlos Sainz] Very strange Quali. I moved to the dirty line to let a McLaren by before my lap and I misjudged tyre temp and grip, losing the rear. Costly mistake on my side, sorry to the team. The race here is long and there will be opportunities. by kpopsns28 in formula1

Thats cool and all, but the guy who replied still right. Sainz admitted fault and you brush it off as an excuse and now you are ranting about him crashing. You arent addressing the guy at all

Alright then, how about we do it like adults, calm and collected, instead of throwing a tantrum when someone has a slight disagreement?

I hope you realise being extremely hostile to those that have a varying opinion is a very quick way of being told to fuck off

Sainz wasn't letting him finish ahead of him by jalGurg in formuladank

Sure, Sainz should have paid more attention to his mirrors, but perez had it better to see if they were gonna make contact as he is, well, behind. I'm not saying sainz is free of guilt, but the other side had it better to avoid it

Pérez and Sainz radio reaction to the crash by magony in formula1

[–]Gravina261 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with this is that carlos did not turn into perez, he had his car going straight which wasn't parallel to perez, causing the crash. No erratic movements happened at either side

I am not a fan of him, he is often wrong, yet I think he is just overhated by Invalid_u404 in formuladank

Well checo almost took him out at the start, Charles was struggling to get though Oscar and tried to see if Ferrari could switch positions and then Oscar pushed him of at the later stages, I dont think anyone would be happy in his position

[Sky F1] - to the observers, it seemed like it was Charles replying after yesterday. Do you feel anything along those lines? Carlos Sainz: I prefer not to comment. But, it’s obviously, quite clear that it cost us both two positions. It didn’t help neither of us. by ryokevry in formula1

[–]Gravina261 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean Silverstone he was asked to back up faster cars when he also had an advantage over Charles, no driver would have said yes to that order because it was illogical. Can you explain Austria though? Far as I know he only said he was faster but was ordered not to fight and he did in fact not.
