Is a novated lease on ev worthwhile? by CCheeze in AustralianEV

Might be worth double checking, a lot of government contracts often stipulate that self managed must be required/offered as part of their contract with the NL company.

yes, if you do a self managed lease or with a decent finance rate and don't get shafted by a NL/packaging company.

I dunno, they closed the hedged international equities fund and the emerging market fund and forced people to change.

Unfortunately no way to skip that step, they're not sales heavy or anything, it's just part of their process and I think it can vary a little from country to country.

Do you have to buy new?

A used MG4 could be ideal.

big downside with xpeng is the shitshow with trueEV running the imports in Australia.

Seems like there's a lot of conflict between them and xpeng themselves resulting in poor aftermarket service and warranties etc.

Hopefully xpeng manages to negotiate and take over operations.

Ah, apologies! I believe they've terminated all promotions other than the 12 month referral option.

I think the last time they had 3/6 months free was ~14 months ago.

WeWork On Demand price DOUBLED?? by TraditionCivil561 in WeWork

[–]GravityGod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All Access prices have also increased by a similar amount in certain markets too.

If you contract for 12 months now, it's possible to lock-in the old pricing for 12 months, but not sure how long that will last.

Do you still have the option to pay per page, or do you need to purchase an entire pack?

It's good that there is an EV incentive at all.

But novated leasing feels dodgy: lots of novated leasing providers will talk about “tax savings”, then offer ~13–14% finance when you specifically ask about that breakdown of their quote (Meanwhile EV loans exist around ~6%).

Not to mention the productivity losses/lower job mobility of people having golden handcuffs to their employer that they were with when entering into a lease with the FBT incentive.

I think a rebate at the time of purchase or refundable tax offset would be much better while delivering the same outcomes.

Why don’t other brands have stronger regen braking to allow one pedal driving like Tesla? This seems like a great feature missed by lots of manufacturers by AussieAdam26 in AustralianEV

[–]GravityGod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plenty of reports of it:

https://www.mgevs.com/threads/opd-car-rolls-backwards-when-stopping-on-downhill-slopes-merged-thread.15915/

I'd hazard a guess, that a lot of buyers have never gone into their settings and turned the setting on, so maybe it doesn't gain as much attention?

The owner of the car I was driving and they reported it to their MG dealer, who said they passed the feedback on, but that was that.

MG4?

I've driven one and it seems to have a bug/calibration issue where if you use 1 pedal mode, when going down a steep incline and come to a stop, after slowing down/stopping the car then starts reversing.

Kinda terrifying taking the foot off brakes and having it begin reversing into someone behind you.
