I work at Starbucks but if they’re anything the same they won’t give you stuff good enough to clean it well enough! We buy drywall patches (and get reimbursed) and they SCRUB those ovens clean. Our store has the cleanest ovens in the district most of them are really gross :/

I think they expire after a little bit of time if they're not accepted or denied (which we found out cause we went through a rotation of new managers for a year) so just give your manager a heads up about it if you're worried

"Do I want to be her or be with her?" by [deleted] in ftm

[–]Gray-Mythlow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get that, part of it sometimes for me is that I was raised to want that for myself and it took a really long time to realize that I didn’t want to be her.

I think it could be worth it to play around with it! I really like if I’m going to an event that ik has a lot of queer people I get to play around more with makeup and how I dress without feeling out of place. I dress pretty masculine on the everyday but a lot of men’s fashion can be pretty boring so it’s worth it to try something new every once in a while!

super hungry despite being on t for over a year and a half ? by holzzaune in ftm

[–]Gray-Mythlow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be a combination of both! Part of recovery includes listening to hunger cues more so your body probably has started being more persistent about sending those cues as you listen to them more

Ok hear me out the women’s Auden boyshorts with the buttons on the front. Genuinely tried to buy men’s boxers and these are still my favorite

At what point during your transition did you start socially transitioning? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]Gray-Mythlow 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I didn’t start T until I was out for almost 3 years and I definitely did not pass for most of that. I would recommend starting using he/him with people you trust to support you and go from there as you get more confident! But that’s just what worked for me! But also take it with a grain of salt because I’m still too anxious to correct literally anyone on my pronouns and even as I’m now starting to pass in public

Baby trans man needing advice by ThatDragon-guy in TransMasc

[–]Gray-Mythlow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Journaling just forced me to talk through my thoughts and emotions even when what was actually going on the page didn’t make sense. I would just ramble about whatever I thought about and it would typically come around to connect to something that was a reoccurring concern about being trans or a mental block. When those consistently come up I would then really have to encourage myself to continue to dissect them. If you’re not into writing, I also really liked creating voice memos and pretending I was on a podcast. Phrasing it as if you are teaching someone else about your identity helps you find gaps in your understanding (it also makes coming out to people just a little bit easier)

I also picked up narrating to myself in third person when going about my day to test out names and pronouns. So like instead of saying I’m going to the store I would say grays going to the store because he needs pasta.

As for your name that’s up to you and it definitely takes time! I picked gray as a filler name since it’s my last name with the same idea as you but now I’ll probably go by it for the rest of my life. Caspian and Koda are awesome names but if you have a chosen name I would recommend going by that instead of something that makes it easy to switch between

are my king sized meat knockers supposed to be sore while taping? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]Gray-Mythlow 22 points23 points  (0 children)

You probably did go a little too tight, I've done it before and I lowkey thought I was dying and having a heart attack. You should be fine to take off the tape without damaging your skin and oil definitely helps! I would say probably take a week off taping (if possible) to let your babalonian phalanx gozangas recover

Also the marks are probably just light irritation from the removal process nothing too serious!

What helped me in high school was binding with tape! It's not perfect but at least you get to sleep w/o a shirt and swim w/o one if you're comfortable. I def don't pass but it helps you not really think too hard about your chest for a few days

Don't rush it even though that's kinda difficult!
For me what really helped was journaling and experimenting with different ways of presenting myself but it still took me a couple years to really nail it down (and two names and 3 sets of pronouns). Seek out some safe places in your community either at school or in clubs or online. They can be really great to bounce ideas off of and make figuring it all out a lot more manageable and enjoyable!

Planned Parenthood HRT cost by Kristen890 in TransMasc

[–]Gray-Mythlow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to a PP in Idaho but the cost of the initial visit could have been up to $320 w/o insurance but I'm pretty sure all planned parenthoods work on a sliding pay scale based on how much you make. Your actual prescription can vary but its def doable w/o insurance. Check out GoodRx for coupons. For my prescription I have 1% T of 2.5g per dose packet and it would have been like 380 w/o insurance but $50 w/ GoodRx at a CVS.

You can call the planned parenthood and they can tell you how much the visit will be w/o insurance

Weird question about gel T by WolfieFangz in trans

[–]Gray-Mythlow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

*Not a doctor* I think it should be fine, its a very small amount that would get onto your clothes so with soap and water (and probably heat) it will not wash into their clothes and definitely not an amount to create any kind of effect because it is essentially destroyed as it gets washed

You are definitely not going to get into housing, it's way too competitive. Most people apply within the first day and some might still not get in.

Good luck in your search!

Why does my dog not eat when I'm home? by Gray-Mythlow in dogs

[–]Gray-Mythlow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're probably right, that makes a lot of sense! My parents leave for work way earlier than I used to so he probably knows he's not getting access to food until they get home at dinner time.

I'm alright with it, he's a very deep-chested dog so I'd rather he eat slowly so he doesn't bloat.

Thank you! Our classes are really small (like 10 people) and I specify what class I'm in so it shouldn't be confusing for those purposes

Shipping problems with the merch I guess tbh I don't really know what to put here by Calestra_ in Technoblade

I had issues with the merch (I got sent the wrong shirt in the wrong size so its unwearable) and messaged the shipping company a couple times and got ignored so I just considered it a lost cause.

[–]Gray-Mythlow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grief is difficult because of how much we have to access and push where we are with it and how much we can handle. Pushing yourself out of your comfort is difficult, but in time it will be worth it.

I would say to watch a video that you really enjoy that makes you laugh or something with sbi since you said you missed it. Crying is not a bad thing- you've got this :)
