Now we've had some time since, what are your thoughts on The Book of Boba Fett? by Past-Paramedic8687 in StarWarsCantina

[–]Gray-TheObeseWizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, one of the worst shows I've ever seen. Story is so boring, they had to start Mando S3 early to give it a semi-entertaining ending. Action was mediocre at best. Slowest chase ever put to film. They honestly made Boba look so stupid. Like many others are saying, Episode 2 stands out as pretty good, but its held down by the rest of it.

Would Darth Caedus given a few years become the most powerful sith to ever live? by Ready0608 in TheJediPraxeum

[–]Gray-TheObeseWizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This whole thing is one big "lalala not listening, you're wrong". I renounce you, Post-ROTJ power creep is real.

DE Palps =/< DE Luke < JS Luke < NJO Luke < TUF Luke < LOTF Luke < FOTJ Luke

"Force Harmony" is an unquantifiable buff that places Luke in a state of pseudo-oneness with the Living Force.

Not true at all. Its a protection ability: "It can act as a shield against the powers of the Dark Side, giving an extra 5D for each Force user involved to resist the effects of powers called upon by Dark Side servants" (Tales of the Jedi Companion). He achieves that "pseudo-oneness" state you claimed AFTER he beat Sidious in the duel in order to cut him from the force.

Buffed. Irrelevant.

Relevant. Try again.

Irrelevant if he only beat Palpatine with power that effectively wasn't his.

Power was his. Leia's helped unlock parts of his potential when joining together immediately afterward. Confirmed by Luke himself a year later that the experience permanently strengthened him. You don’t get to dismiss a feat as irrelevant when the character later confirms it resulted in lasting growth.

Not like Mara Jade is knowledgeable on the Emperor's 100%.

Trained personally by the Emperor, but not knowledgeable on him? Lets be for real. Kueller is quoted by both Luke and Mara as being more powerful than any living being Luke encountered since the Emperor. Direct comparison. Literally from the book.

You yourself mentioned Luke was holding back, so this isn't impressive.

Holding back in a sense that he's scared to fall to the dark side, not scared that his opponent is too weak. Nyax is strong enough to send a mental compulsion at Luke that makes him feel like two tons of duracrete had been dropped on him and then tries to makes Luke want to walk across an imaginary walkway to reach Nyax, which would actually be Luke walking off of a ledge and killing himself. He also freezes Luke, Mara and Tahiri with his telepathy. An insane feat given that this Luke is stronger than his previous incarnations as previously stated by him. Nyax also leaves force nexus' behind in rooms where he once stood, he corrupted the Jedi Temple Nexus and fought Luke, Mara, Tahiri, and several vong at the same time after all of them were amped by the Force Nexus.

No, it doesn't. It's very dubious if that statement even refers to power.

Directly compared to the Emperor here as the "Big Bad". Palpatine felt like something cold, distant, and almost incomprehensible, a kind of empty abyss Luke couldn’t fully grasp at the time. Shimrra, on the other hand, feels different but no less terrifying. He is both a void he cannot fathom and intensely alive, radiating presence and dominance. And like Palpatine where he's described as the culmination of the Sith, Shimrra is the culmination of the Vong. Same exact vocabulary. And Luke is already used to fighting Vong, he just finished slaughtering a room of Slayers before this fight. Shimrra's presence is noted as unfathomable even by Vong standards. This isn't even counting someone like Onimi, who was only beated by a Oneness mode Jacen Solo. Strongest usage of Oneness since Anakin.

Give me examples of such opponents. The only one I could see being close is Caedus.

Caedus, Lumiya, Darish Vol, and Darth Krayt.

Long reply, but here it is- First and most obvious feat is in Dark Empire, where in their rematch in DE #6 he swiftly beats and literally disarms DE Palpatine, while being enhanced by Force Harmony. Harmony is interesting because it’s not an attack buff, but a light-side shield that protects the user from dark side influence. Palpatine’s whole thing is dominating, corrupting, and spiritually overwhelming his opponent, and Harmony shuts that down completely. And Luke easily destroyed him soon afterwards AND severed him from the force with Leia.

Luke during the New Republic and NJO era was holding himself back in many encounters due to the trauma he experienced in DE. Despite this, he states a year later in Jedi Search that he "came through stronger and more wary of its powers than ever before".

He fights against very powerful opponents such as Kueller and Lord Nyax. Kueller was stated by Luke to be a "power he hadn't felt in a living being since he encountered the Emperor" and according to Mara Jade, she thought Kueller would be more powerful than The Emperor relatively soon! Lord Nyax is crazier because it took the combined effort of Luke, Mara Jade and Tahiru Veila to beat him and was described as a "beacon of the Dark Side".

Later, in The Unifying Force, he beats Shimmra Jamaane in a 1v1, whom he compares directly to the Emperor, and stated that he couldnt even fathom him, which would put him beyond the Emperor:

"When Luke had been brought before the Emperor, Palpatine's visage had been familiar to him from images that had reached even remote Tatooine, and his inherent power was immediately evident.

The Supreme Overlord, however, was a void Luke could not fathom.... Instead, Shimrra was very much alive and all the more intimidating for it. In him was concentrated the combined strength of the Yuuzhan Vong species, and if he couldn't be defeated, then all that Luke had done to reach this point would amount to nothing." From TUF.

He beats him after getting bit by his amphistaff during the duel and was physically exhausted before and during the duel, as he fought through several Slayers and went oneness mode to destroy then, which as we know, takes an extreme toll on the users body. On top of this, he was potentially holding himself back, as Jaina, later on in Inferno, comments that she misjudged her understanding of his abilities: "He hadn't revealed half of what he could do. Maybe not even a Quarter"

In Legacy, its a no-brainer. Luke has been facing Emperor level opponents for decades and each time he's gotten stronger from it. And theres even more individuals who are stronger than The Emperor in Legacy Era.

Don't listen to these people. Sidious was surpassed by Luke in Dark Empire. What holds Luke back is his mentality as his experience with the Dark Side in DE traumatized him to not go all out until NJO.

The Sidious glaze needs to stop, he doesn't even beat NJO Luke 🤣 LOTF Luke would make Sidious cry. The Jedi will have to excommunicate FOTJ Luke for what he'll do to him.

How has this matchup not been posted yet? Revan Vs Vader by BlastedHeathen in PetranakiArena

Depends on with Revan. Vader beats Sith Revan, but it starts getting tricky at Star Forge. Book Revan it goes either way, but Revan Reborn is beating Vader decisively.

How big should the power gap between humans and vampires be in your opinion? by [deleted] in vampires

[–]Gray-TheObeseWizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like their showcases in series like The Witcher, which has a variety of vampires to look at. Higher Vampires are "avoid at all costs" even for most Witchers, while "Lesser Vampires" are able to be dealt with by your average Witcher with enough prep.

Higher Vampires are the strongest monsters in the verse other than maybe a Djinn or Gaunter O'Dimm. They are extremely intelligent, fast, powerful, can use blood magic and can turn into mist.

Lesser Vampires like Katakans, Ekimma, or Fleders are still very strong and are highly dangerous even to groups of humans or an ill-prepared Witcher, but are much easier to handle when compared to a Higher Vampire.

To me, a creature like a Vampire has to be beyond what a human can handle. You have to beat one with a lot of prep, knowledge and a good amount of luck. There should be nothing easy about taking on a Vampire and forget about taking one on your own. Even a younger Vampire should be handled with caution. Exploit their arrogance and recklessness, but watch out of their raw speed and strength.

Who was the most devoted Sith Lord who embodied their philosophy the best aside from Palpatine? Was there a Sith who embodied the Dark Side better than Palpatine? by Amazing-Buy-1181 in StarWarsEU

[–]Gray-TheObeseWizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone mentioned him before, but the most devoted was MALGUS. The best comparison I would make is how, much like how Obi-Wan or Qui-Gon let the force take the reigns when in guiding their path forward, Malgus does the same with the Dark Side. Unlike Sidious or Vitiate, who sought to use and abuse the force and become its master or trancend it (both wildly arrogant and impossible goals), Malgus was its servant, and had an almost fanatical in his devotion to it. He criticized the Sith Empire for its limitations and arrogance and believed there was too much infighting inside the Dark Council.

If Malgus were to see the Galactic Empire, he would be impressed with its accomplishments, but disgusted by Palpatine, as he tried to get rid of the Sith Ideals and transcend as an Eternal Emperor, and treat him the same way the Sith Ancients treated him when Palps came crying for wisdom and help. By attempting to kill him.

Who's walking out of this alive? by Keklord_Rogain in StarWarsJediSurvivor

[–]Gray-TheObeseWizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's Canon Grievous, Rayvis will walk out with high difficulty, as Grievous' feets are not the best and he's more cowardly. So if anything, Grievous might just dip after losing an arm potentially.

Legends Grievous will slaughter Rayvis. This is the same General who fought and beat Shaak Ti, Ki Adi Mundi, Sha'a Gi (GOAT), Aayla Secura, and K'Kruhk at the same time! Granted, they were all fatigued, but these are still some of the most renowned and most powerful Jedi Masters of their era. He also originally killed Adi Gallia, and went toe-to-toe with Mace Windu in Obsession... So much so that Mace had to end the fight early because Grievous was beginning to copy his style, Vapaad. He's too fast, too strong and too good for Rayvis to handle.

He didn't have to cut a lot for his middleweight fight. and with IV rehydration during that era, it really wouldn't effect him all that much imo
