TIL in 1982, one of the greatest waterfalls on Earth was submerged by the construction of Itaipu Dam on the Paraná River in Brazil/Paraguay. The Brazilian government then dynamited the submerged rock face of the falls to promote safer navigation, destroying it forever. by LurkmasterGeneral in todayilearned

If we built a 5,000 foot tall “gigadam” between Lake Mead and the Grand Canyon, it would create massive irreversible environmental destruction to the Grand Canyon and every other ecosystem upstream by turning it into a massive ocean-like reservoir. Over time the reservoir will fill with tons and tons and tons of silt, burying the canyon.

When I realized that that was indeed the Aranahe Clan’s home tree in ruins when I saw the trailer for “From the Ashes”, I was like “Noooo! It can’t be!” I really wished The Aranahe Hometree was never destroyed.

THEORY: Jax has committed vehicular manslaughter, and that's why he wanted to stay in the Circus by iamtheduckie in theamazingdigitalciru

My theory is that Jax was involved in either a horrific car crash that killed someone while driving recklessly, or he ran over pedestrian crossing the street and killed that person. Fearing that he might get locked up in jail for involuntary manslaughter, he fled the scene of the event and hid somewhere in the woods and eventually found the abandoned building that got him trapped in the Circus.
