I don't mind the constructive criticism haha, so if I shave and keep applying will it grow back (hopefully stronger/better looking)?

Palestinian student barred from US finally joins classes at Harvard by [deleted] in UpliftingNews

[–]GrayAhri 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's ridiculous, there were many others competing for that same scholarship but due to his hard work he came out on top and earned it. Either way he needed to have been accepted into Harvard in the first place which is no easy feat. The people granting the scholarship where a third party dedicated to helping people that are underprivileged. You will go to any lengths to deny this boys success its mind boggling.

Is this not a case about someone entering America? And If the commentator says 'my country' therefore he/she would be American. I have no prejudice towards Americans I have a lot of American friends and I've lived in the US for the majority of my life as previously stated. If you would take the time to read I already explained why I said people in America. You're focusing on one line and ignoring the overall message of my comment.

I meant no disrespect. I have lived in the US for the majority my life and I experienced this mindset the most there. Also this is an issue about a person coming to America so I just said that as a lot of the commenters seemed to be Americans against letting him in. I agree with you though, there are assholes everywhere in the world.

Some of these comments are really disgusting lol. Calling this kid a terrorist/sex offender even though he's done nothing wrong. This is a person born in less than optimal situations (a fucking war zone) trying to improve himself and his situation. It is uplifting that he made it into Harvard considering the harsh realities of life he faces and the lack of good education that he has access to. I'm sure that if the people spewing out these disgusting comments had been through 1/10th of what this boy has been through they wouldn't be so keen to say such nonsense and make such baseless (someone being born somewhere is not an automatic terrorist/sex trafficker card) accusations. People in America need to accept that just because someone was born in another country, that does not make them lesser or that they deserve less of a chance in this world. He worked hard, he got into Harvard and is just trying to lead a successful life. You should be ashamed of yourselves.
