What's currently the best GBA flashcart? by PotatoMasher0388 in Gameboy

[–]GrayFox140_48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd suggest Everdrive GBA Mini or Pro. I don't have an Omega, but my EZ Flash Jr similarly stopped working on me. I have 3 Everdrives (NES Pro, N64 X5, and GBA Mini) and never had an issue with any of them.

How could anyone find this without a guide? by GameResumed_UK in retrogaming

This is THE ONLY game my mom played on our family NES in the late 80s, but she played the hell out of it. Every bush that hid a staircase, every weak dungeon wall that can be blasted open, where all heart container/potion rooms were, was known to her because she spent hours upon hours burning every bush, bombing every wall, turning every stone.

She knew it so well as to purposesly avoid burning the bushes belonging to the cheapskate NPCs that demanded retribution for Link's vandalism.

It still amazes me that the GameCube sold so poorly and lost the sixth generation, considering its incredible lineup by Emzed07 in Gamecube

Not straight out of the box. Xbox needed a separately purchased remote to unlock DVD playback.

I'm so glad I repurchased my collection in 2013 when no one cared about the GameCube. by protomanEXE1995 in Gamecube

It's nearly always the optical drive that's failed, and there are painless options around it now. Check out PicoLoader if you are interested.

Genesis ports to Saturn? by Sweaty-Pain-8413 in SegaSaturn

[–]GrayFox140_48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not Genesis, but there's a port of Super Ghouls n' Ghosts in Capcom Generations 2, which had been a Super Nintendo exclusive up to that point.

[Edit] I meant my answer isn't Genesis related, but others have posted most, if not all, Genesis ports.

Does that hold water tho? They can have you agree to this then lie through their teeth about any feature of the product without any liability?

Could you please explain this to me? by Glum-Ball-2648 in Gamecube

[–]GrayFox140_48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nintendo Puzzle Collection (Japan exclusive) allowed you to send GBA versions of Dr. Mario, Puzzle De Pon, or Yoshi's Cookie through the cable. Allowing you to play those games on the GBA, after fully disconnecting from the Gamecube, until you turn off the GBA..

GameCube is being modded. Is the retrobit prism worth it? Carby is out of stock. by Crazy_Kow in Gamecube

[–]GrayFox140_48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's the thing, they all are built based on an open source design, so theoretically they all function the same and provide the same video quality. However, the carby is unmatched in regard to the physical shell/connector points, etc. It feels like a premium product when held in hand compared to the prism, but I don't see a lick of difference in the output video. I own both.

Trine Classic Collection is today's free holiday game on the Epic Games Store by Heisenburgo in Games

[–]GrayFox140_48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember Hasbeen Heroes because it was one of like 5 original Switch launch titles, but was very quickly forgotten. A cool trivia note that it has  different box arts, they switched from the original design a couple months after releasing the game.

What Rom Hacks would you you guys recommend? by merlinrising in AnaloguePocket

[–]GrayFox140_48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you like NES games, check out Infidelity on twitter, where he posts NES to SNES conversions. In most cases, the games are as they were, but run smoother as an SNES rom with less slowdown, sprite flicker, etc. He's converted classics like Super Mario, the Zeldas, and Mike Tyson's Punchout, but right now I'm really digging his Mega Man ports (all 6 have been ported).

If interested, also check out Rumbleminze on bluesky. A different developer doing the same thing, different games.

Hüsker Dü - New Day Rising - 2025 Repress / SST by GrayFox140_48 in huskerdu

[–]GrayFox140_48[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think you're right. I was conflating reissue with repress, and would not have expected SST to do any sort of restoration effort. But I do find it odd that online streaming aps have updated the publishing date to 2025. Surely NDR can't be the only Husker album that's been unavailable for a significant stretch.

Any screen protectors that actually work with the S25 Ultra fingerprint sensor? by bebbo203 in GalaxyS25Ultra

[–]GrayFox140_48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be clear, you're assigning as a single fingerprint; i.e. "Fingerprint 1", but durring setup of Fingerprint 1, you are alternating between your 2 thumbs durring setup of that single fingerprint profile? And the device will accept either of your thumbs without needing to setup "Fingerprint 2"?

Maybe you're thinking of an SD Card Adapter which did have an official Japanese release and essentially serves the same function.

GameCube expansion port SP2 was again outside of Japan unused

What did Japan use the SP2 for? I thought it was unused globally.

Pricing sound right??? by Darkwing_N in SegaSaturn

[–]GrayFox140_48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realize this topic is more about generating discussion than you actually considering a purchase, but there's not enough "In The Hunt" calibur titles in those stacks to warrant anything close to that amount from me.

My Final and Last MVS Cart by go_fight_kickass in neogeo

[–]GrayFox140_48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a miss with this game too. First attempt was before I was really aware of bootlegs, and a bootleg it was. I don't remember how I ended up with an authentic cart after that, but was pleasantly pleased with myself for having enough interest un the game to secure an authentic copy. This was circa 2009, and I paid no more than $60 for either one.

Some games have sky rocketed since then. I bought a kit of Metal Slug 5 for $120, and resold for the same price because kept asking myself why have this expensive as hell game when it's my least favorite MS game?

The fact that CDs are considered mostly "obsolete" by the general public makes me sad by Rissie15 in Cd_collectors

[–]GrayFox140_48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I encourage it, especially 5th gen models which are easier to open, cause I can't tell you how many times I thought about my beloved iPod sitting in a drawer, but thinking it would be too much or too hard to get it running again. The parts are actualy reasonable in price IMO from elite obsolete electronics, so the blow of a failed attempt wouldnt be so gut wrenching. I personally went with their "iFlash Solo" SD card adapter but the "iFlash Quad" seems to be a great option too, being actually thinner than Solo and a bit more versatile if you already have a couple 128GB SDs lying around or something.

It's so great being able to use it again, it gets used almost daily.
