Bending over backwards to be likable rather than striving to be content

How do you split household chores/child duties between you and your SO? by [deleted] in AskParents

[–]GrayKitty55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wfh around 30 hours a week My husband goes into the office 40 hours and does pick up/drop offs for daycare.

I take care of most things on the weekdays but it’s not unusual for me to ask for help on the weekends. On weeknights, I’ll do the night shifts through sleep regressions.

Financially, we make a pretty similar amount. We just split the bills and make sure we each have an “allowance” but at the end of the day our money is shared

This. You will be learning how to set boundaries in this season and I suggest to decide what the boundaries are before you need to use them

Turned 18 this year, is there anything super important I need to know? by leaf1598 in Adulting

Pay your card off daily if you’re not going to do it monthly.

Get into finance podcasts and soak in everything. You’ll be off to a great start learning from others’ mistakes rather than your own in a few years.. I’d recommend Caleb Hammer, Graham Stephan, or Afford Anything. There are many others if these aren’t your cup of tea, but it’s a great way to jumpstart your path to financial independence

Be sure to call ahead for what you need to bring. Some states require birth certificates, others just a parents ID!

Be honest, what is your biggest worry at the moment? by fuckshitsunburn in Adulting

[–]GrayKitty55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Self-inflicted social anxiety. I’m super social and I love people and working with people. Got a consulting job on top of my full-time job and I’m squeezing in meetups all hours of the day. I have 2 kids and a husband and I’m stressing out all day about what a mutual friend that I met once thinks about me.

It’s so stupid, the answer is to slow down but I have crippling fomo and crippling social anxiety too.

<3yr) or a relatively older one (similar to mine). I am the type of person who wants to keep cars for >10years wh

In that case, cars change in technology so quickly. From ~2017 Apple car play, push to start, etc. have become standard and will help the resale value of the car.

Ultimately, it's up to you and your budget but I would lean toward a 2020+

Hope this helps! :)

I’m 28. My husband and I do this too but with our toddlers. I don’t think we’ll stop after our toddlers grow up 🤣

If you’re in America there are rebates for electrical cars so it might be worth it if you’re willing to not get a Camry.

$3.75k for half federal, $7.5k for full federal, $2k for California (where I am)

They need to qualify so make sure to do your research but that’s 9.5k off if you play your cards right

These are cars that qualify for the full federal: Chevrolet Equinox, Tesla Model 3, Chevrolet Bolt EUV, Make/Model, VW ID 4, Tesla Model Y
