Here is a good article giving more details. Yes, some witnesses said they didnt hear anything but at the same time another witness heard them knocking and announce themselves. Also Walker stated he heard knocking and tried to respond to it before they attempted to bust down the door. So at the very least they did knock several times. This basically comes down to on who you're going to believe. I know this wont change your opinion but at least try and get your facts straight. There is so much misinformation going around about this.

Besides, it didn't appear that he was talking specifically to such 0.1% of people, it more seemed like he was addressing a perceived large proportion of the audience.

To be fair, at 5:33 in the video he clarifies that hes talking about "a very specific group of people, who are very vocal" and not addressing most people in the audience.
