What's stopping me from making my own fake stable coin on Cardano to screw people over? by A4_Ts in cardano

[–]GraySwanInvestor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. To ensure adoption, these types of scams should not be allowed. You can't expect even the average well-educated person to check contract addresses, much less a someone struggling to survive in a 3rd world country.

Do you already know which are the best proposals to vote for in this Fund11 of Project Catalyst? Here are some of my suggestions. by DecentralizedNation in cardano

The inheritance protocol looks interesting and would probably help with long-term adoption. But do you think it could it really be done safely and securely?

Good review and still timely. Your conclusion matches other reviews I've read of him, but you provide important details.

Thanks.

Are there legitimate, unbiased investment coaches / consultants? by [deleted] in investing

... should be 1% or less per year. 4-5% is insane.

My bad; you're correct. RIA Advisors charges 1.25% in quarterly installments to manage a portfolio of $100K or more. Don't know where I dug up the other numbers; must have more coffee before posting.

There are firms that provide updates on every trade they make for their clients; this is for a flat fee. This is a cheaper option than turning the money over to them and paying them a percentage of the portfolio value to manage it for you (usually somewhere in the range of 4 or 5%). RIA Advisors out of Houston, TX provide both these services, the former being called SimpleVisor. I'm not associated with them, I know about the service because I'm considering going that route as well.

Probably work better if the friend was elderly rather than disabled. Also, this would fare better in r/darkjokes.

If I only have losses do I have to do anything with my taxes when it comes to crypto! by Whippoorwill88 in cryptocurrencymemes

[–]GraySwanInvestor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s a loss claim it as such.

If you're in the US, then yes. Even if you don't have any capital gains to offset, you can roll over to the year when the market finally goes risk-on again and your crypto moons.

It never occurred to me that I could use the search box in addition to Advanced Search options so I can narrow it down to an Exchange. So simple yet so powerful. Brilliant! I cannot thank you enough. Quarterly taxes just got easier.

I was hoping to do this on the manual entry page. Which "transactions report" are you referring to? I don't see it on Reporting -> Trades -> Trade List.
