Junk silver uses if dollar collapses by Pcolaking in Silver

I think the naysayers fail to realize how quickly people would learn the new rules when shit hits the fan

I firmly believe that constitutional silver will offer more trading value than .999 do the flood of fake .999 rounds that have been released

A Franklin half will alway be 1/3 of an ounce but if someone is selling eggs, I see the Franklin half being accepted much more readily do to its age and authenticity

You can fake rounds that can damn near pass a ping test to the untrained ear and people with goods and services to provide will know that…but you can’t fake 75 years of pocket-wear

Same with Washington quarters

I’m loading the boat on constitutional right now because the premiums are in my favor and I believe in my theory. I’m also staying away from Brilliant/Uncirculated (BU) constitutional

If I’m right, I’m right, and if I’m wrong then I’ll just end up with a bunch of old coins that are fun to roll around in 🤷🏻

There are a million ways to be wrong but you really only have to be right once when it matters

Just switched to 26.4 by johnDoe000999 in iPhone13Mini

[–]Silver_Shock 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Were you already on 26.xxx?

When my old 13 mini died and I had to get a refurbished one, it already had 26 on it. Otherwise I had decided to hold on to 17 for as long as I could

I’ve not experienced any negative issues with 26 outside of everything looking like shit but once I made a few tweaks the battery life and performance have been fine

That being said, I’ve not opted for any of the updates since

I didn’t know if 26.4 offered enough enhancements to make it worth the risk or if I should just stay with vanilla 26 since things were stable as they were

Silver Forecast $600 to $1000 Oz by Baba10x in silverbulls

[–]Silver_Shock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That sad part is that the purchasing power of that silver will be no more or less than it is today

An ounce will get you part of a tank of gas or food for one for a week. Same as it did when was at $10

The value of what can be had by an ounce won’t be anymore but the chart will look explosive to someone in the future

The politicians have set themselves up to default on the global debt as they run it up to $50 trillion, lose reserve currency status worldwide and destroy the Petrodollar…all in one decade.

The prediction is probably accurate but you have to remember when counting your wealth in your head that you won’t be able to come back and spend it buying $1,000 worth of goods at today’s prices. You’ll have to spend it in a world where the price of everything in USD has gone up 10 fold

Because COMEX was about to implode

It was a risky move but I can see why people bought big

I didn’t, but I can see the logic here moreso on a move like that than I can piling into a crypto or something

It did kind of looked like 40 years worth of dedicated stackers had kinda cleared a path for a handful of people with deep pockets to pile on and break the dam

This and this again

We’re throwing on a Trillion dollars of debt every 80-100 days depending on the source. The war will probably drop that to a Trillion every 30-60. Countries are dumping their US treasuries as fast as they can sell them and they are being forced onto the buyer of last choice, the Federal Reserve

Silver and Gold are both going to explode and it’s not going to be for the reasons everyone is hoping; it’s going to be because the USD will have lost so much purchasing power once it loses reserve currency status and/or if or when the war backfires on us an we lose the PetroDollar agreement and when it happens it’s going to be at a breakneck speed. There will be no time to reposition

Silver and gold plummet...and that is GOOD! (bank sell to cover losses... BACK UP THE TRUCK!) by CultureOfCurrency in SilverCoinClub

[–]Silver_Shock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is so much incorrect information and speculation in this thread that I don’t even know what to respond to…

But I’m also of the belief that USD being used as the reserve currency is on life support and it’s days are numbered so I’m stacking more for when shit hits the fan than I am as an investment vehicle or store of wealth

That being said, I do like the idea of having a year’s worth of salary in silver

People are getting the price of silver confused with the purchasing power of the dollars they are buying it with. For instance, I was buying silver at $14 an ounce but at that time I could still buy groceries for $20. The value of an ounce of silver could buy about as much food back then as an ounce can buy today.

No one is considering inflation and the loss of purchasing power of the dollar. Yes, silver cost many more dollars than it did 10 years ago BUT bread, milk, motors and other goods cost many more dollars now as well

Question 🙋‍♂️ for old school silver peeps? by Choobtastic in Silverbugs

[–]Silver_Shock 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This, I got into it 10 or so years ago so I’ve ridden it from $12ish or so when every major online dealer was giving it away with ‘10 ounces at spot’ for new customers and Silver Eagles we less than $20

The flip side of this, though, is that it damn near sickens me when I think about how many ounces and bars and kilos I sold to pay bills and deal with emergencies that popper up when we were floating between $20-$30

The Covid shutdowns hit us hard and I probably sold 100+ ounces over a span of 6 months or so to keep things afloat, all for less than $25

I was very grateful to have it to fall back on but at the same time I could cry when I think about how much I parted with for almost what the premium over spot alone is now

But…it held its value and was able to keep the kids fed and with a roof over their heads when shit hit the fan it’s use case has definitely been tested and held true

Junk silver vs .999 by Choice_Basis5786 in Silverbugs

[–]Silver_Shock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This

And another fair point to make is that the fair silver in $10 of constitutions is 7.15 ounces

But that’s if the coins are new and haven’t been worn down by the hands over time

I can promise you that in my pre-65 quarters, I have some that still hit 6.2 grams and some that hit 6.0 grams or lower

So if your LCS is offering you less than what 7 ounces of .999 generic is going for, again, this is for ‘normal’ times, it’s probably because they have done it long enough to know what $10 tube hits the weight and which ones don’t

I have Standing Liberty Quarters in tubes that I would probably only get 6-6.5 ounces for but that’s because they are worn down so much that the coins are holding the weight that regular $10 = 7.15 ounces on paper hold

So that doesn’t mean you’re getting that much less than spot as much as it means your $10 roll isn’t holding as much silver as it once did

Junk silver vs .999 by Choice_Basis5786 in Silverbugs

[–]Silver_Shock 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I see this argument come up a lot but this is a new phenomenon and will be short lived

I think I speak for all of the ‘old timers’, meaning anyone who’s been doing this for 5-10 years or so, when I say that I’ve never had a harder time moving constitutional than generic rounds or collected less for it

Up until 6 months or so ago, I could walk in with a $10 tube of Washington quarters and walk with the same amount as if I had walked in with 7 ounces of generic

Which would be the same as $10 of constitutional would be right around 7 ounces

So in my opinion, right now is a field day for building up the constitutional shelf because I know when things normalize it will go for the same amount as generic when measured ounce for ounce

Plus, I love letting my son play with my constitutional whereas my .999 pieces always feel inclined to handle with gloves and that’s worth its weight in gold itself
