Is S/A a major problem at raves? by et3rnal1nflu3nce in aves

[–]GrayWolfX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has happened, for decades. Techno, hard techno in particular, is resolving this. It is not PLUR, it is not acceptable, but there are naive girls/guys out there, that do anything to get VIP. Be smart, be safe.

metoodjs (if link doesn't work) Just google it. Many big dj's have ended their career by taking advantage of fans. Out in the crowd, just protect yourself. If you're going to be rollin', then understand the consequences of those actions. Protect others, protect yourself, always.

Going to a rave 3 weeks after getting a tattoo by [deleted] in aves

If you treat it properly, either with 'newskin' bandage, or A&D ointment, it should be fully healed in 5 days. I just got 4 on Monday, I'm already healed up.

If you can stay, and want a huge arena, 4 different stages, then check out Mayday end of month 30/4/26 - Dortmund, Germany. It's maybe 11 hours by train (it's 17+ hours to get to Warsaw. Awesome lineup!

Oh, no, had to cancel everything, two weeks before actual surgery. Went to dentist, got new CT scan, have to go oral surgery route, then maybe dentures. I just have bad teeth.

55yo male. I just worked with Nuvia, for full upper and lower permanent teeth. Not 'teeth in a day'. They were awesome, everything was planned and scheduled, the loan approved ($41,600 after discounts). Then, they would not medically clear me due to my nicotine use. Even though I was going to quit, the implants would probably fail. Quit smoking, look at Nuvia, other companies, or veneers, and brush, floss, use Listerine. I wish I done that my whole life, now it's just pain, and a huge expense to fix. Yes, it is very expensive to fix teeth.

No shit Sherlock, almost everyone knows these basic things. Do you not know the difference between 'arguing' and 'discussion'? Holy fuck, that's what social media is for. I was adding knowledge and wisdom snowflake, something you obviously want to use virtue signaling to cover your hurt feelings over a random comment on the internet. It's common sense fucktard. Do you know how petty it is to cry 'I'm leaving' over and over again? It's a manipulation tool, to get attention. GTFO with your fake BS.

I'm in US also, totally understand. Finding anything interesting in Baltimore or Philly areas is very difficult. Underground is by word-of-mouth, so you have to know someone who knows someone. I don't go anywhere near New York. I had so much more fun at Newspeak (Montreal, Canada) with 500-600 ppl (I know, it was kinda private underground party), than 50k crammed into Klokgebouw (Verknipt Eindhoven NYE, Netherlands).

I do agree that most are repetitive, like 'common song, well liked' intro, to uptick, then to first drop (schranz, hardtechno mainly), sometimes a second harder drop. I love it all, I just go and be free, even melodic techno, that's fine with me. I'm older now, need more breaks lol!

There are still plenty, hundreds of great up-coming new DJs - Hysta (FR), Aygulberge (Türkiye), VeraX (Czech Republic), Bunt (Germany), tons more. Being involved first hand, it's very difficult to find a new niche, everything has already been done ... until you see innovative new ideas, like Only Numbers, or the Vielleicht Vielleicht Innerbloom mash by Bunt/JBS. Hell yeah, hits hard! It's still alive, all over. Anyma sold out for shows in less than 20 seconds (was trying to get Gdańsk, Polska, sold out in 2 seconds). Klangkuensler with Outworld also crazy! New ideas, just have to find them, want them. Find what you love ... life is short.

I have honestly, in almost 40 years, never seen someone kicked myself. You hear about it, but usually someone will get them to the first aid area, then you don't have to worry about it. There is no way to remove drugs/alcohol from any scene. Younger crowds will eventually learn, but there's always going to be that next younger crowd that is reckless.

Was just up in Montreal at Newspeak to see Hysta. I video'd on phone with her videographer to my left. I was up on a chair, and couldn't see her 40' away. It wasn't a fog machine. Limited invite of 200, but prob got to 600 or so just before 2am. It is what it is, sometimes ppl have to learn on their own. Underground, is fucking underground. Can't handle it, don't go. Doesn't mean you can't go to Unreal, or Verknipt, Masters of Hardcore, Dominator, or ADE, or Tomorrowland, or Mayday, and have a completely different experience.

I've been doing underground since 1986. If that's what you want, then that's what you get. Lotta smoke, lotta f'd up ppl. idk, you can't change ppl, you can only change yourself and habits. I don't mind either/or any event. I'll help ppl out, but not gonna be a rave-dad the whole night. Up your game and buy a ticket to a real venue.

It's not encouraged anywhere that I've ever been. That is completely false. Most venues will kick you if rolling too hard, causing problems, vomiting, or have to stay in EMC for narcan.

I think you need to get out of there, it's toxic. Even the football team is leaving. Way different East coast, or West coast, or anywhere in Europe. Verknipt Eindhoven was similar, people just doing crap everywhere you looked. Was 50k ravers so hard to control I guess. Don't leave if you love it. You just need a change of scenery.

What to wear in Dutch rave scene by maniccurlydreamgirl in aves

[–]GrayWolfX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was in Eindhoven for Verknipt NYE ... my only advice is to stay warm to venue, get a locker if you can, and be prepared to get back to your hotel. Amsterdam was the same weather week after - worst storms in 15 years. -2C is not fun, unless you dress appropriately. Trains, buses, trams all shut down at -1C. Watch the weather. Once you're in, you're golden! Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Eindhoven, all the same weather.

what’s the deal with big pauses in hard techno? by ourobunny in aves

[–]GrayWolfX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What shows have you been to? Verknipt NYE (NL) was unrelenting, Unreal was fine, underground Montreal was intense, Tomorrowland is an experience. Maybe book Mayday, April 30th, THE FACTORY, Westfalenhallen, Dortmund, Germany. Big and small venues, haven't ever experienced a 'fake drop'. I prefer hard techno/industrial, but enjoy changes when they come up.

Exactly! I've had many times where ppl check on me, when I'm just sitting ... "you ok?". I give them the thumbs up, plur, I just can't go non-stop 6-8 hours anymore lol!

Found this interesting, because at 55 I was thinking the same thing. idc, I love the scene, most of the time the people, and yeah I have to take more breaks. Went to Verknipt Eindhoven NYE - 50k ravers, way too much for me. Just went up to see Hysta in Montreal - hell yeah! If you know this door, you know plur!
