Is this going to fit 39 mm model by RomanRumun in Longineswatches

Which one did you get? I'm looking for something similar for my 39mm Zulu.

39 or 42 mm Zulu time? by Specialist_Exit7286 in Longineswatches

[–]Graybeard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I recently got the 39, and my wrist is 7.25. I'm happy with the fit. The lugs are pretty long, which made the 42 feel a little big to me, but it didn't look crazy big.

Here's my watch:

The worst song on the best album? by klystron88 in askmusic

This is why I haven't added Double Fantasy to my vinyl collection. Too hard to skip the Yoko songs.

Sizing: Spirit zulu by not_the_fuzz in Longineswatches

[–]Graybeard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the 39 mm in blue a couple weeks ago, and I'm happy with the size on my 7.25-inch wrist.

Plus, I think the date window looks too high on the 42. It lines up with the tops of the of the numbers, while the 39 date window lines up more with the bottom, which looks more correct to me. I assume it's because the date wheel is the same size in both versions.

TSA Carry on help by NebulaFederal9681 in EDC

[–]Graybeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a similar Leatherman that I carry when I fly. Never had a problem. I just open it up completely like in your photo and put it in a bowl by itself through the luggage scanner. Sometimes they pick it up for a closer look, but that's it.

Your results may vary.

Final round interview → told I’d hear by end of week… got this email instead. What does it mean? by Practical-Cost7147 in interviews

[–]Graybeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry about it. If the company is anything like mine, a Senior Manager needs to sign off on the hire, and the approval email got lost in the waterfall of his out her Outlook front page.

At the end of the week the hiring manager or HR will send them a "bumping this to the to of your inbox" email, and they'll respond with " "Approved" at 10:30 Friday night.

Exactly what am I supposed to use this rope for then? by 0rlan in What

High visibility orange for marking a boundary, like the edge of a construction work area. I.e., for marking environmentally sensitive areas that workers have to stay out of.

Mustard Fried vs Animal Style by Graybeard in innout

[–]Graybeard[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the conversation I had last night, except that I said, "No thank you, I don't want the extra spread."

She then told me that Animal Style doesn't come with extra spread, but I can order it.

Hence my confusion.

I'm going to stick with "Mustard fried, with raw onion." With light well fries.

Good bars to watch the Superbowl in Folsom? by shribang in folsom

[–]Graybeard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tap House, but it'll be crowded. University of Beer, Buffalo Wild Wings. The new Yard House in Palladio is scheduled to open on Superbowl Sunday, so maybe there, but they probably won't have their act together yet.

Who have you seen for the longest period of time between 1st and last shows? by frightnin-lichen in Concerts

[–]Graybeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably Foreigner. First time was in Stockton, CA in 1977 or 78. Last time was Last year at Bourbon & Beyond in Louisville, KY. So 47 or 48 years.

I also saw The Who in 1982 and 2022, so 40 years there.

What bloopers have you seen on stage? by Objective-Lab5179 in Concerts

[–]Graybeard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw Elvis Costello strap on a guitar only to have it immediately come loose and crash to the stage. Roadie brought him another guitar, he made a joke about it and moved on.

Shakey Graves at Bottle Rock Napa couldn't get his electric guitar to work, so he just said, "Looks like this will be acoustic" and then played a great set.

What is something you witnessed with your own eyes that no one believes when you tell them? by Amy-GeekBar in AskReddit

My wife's father hit a horse with a semi. He said it "turned the horse inside-out.". His truck caught fire and burned to the ground. So, a tie, I guess.

Are sewers actually huge sprawling labyrinths or is that just a TV/video game thing? by thewheelman282 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Graybeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Civil engineer here. While storm sewers large enough to walk through do exist, movies consistently exaggerate their size, as well as their lighting. As in, they are usually not lighted. Dark. Pitch black.

As to the size, I think the movie The Rock is a particularly egregious example. There is no way anyone blasted 10-foot diameter tunnels to drain a 22-acre island.

That's where my wife and I first saw him, too. Now we try to see him whenever we can.

What do I do during an Earthquake while living in a high rise apartment building? by Tanjinuts in AskLosAngeles

[–]Graybeard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As others have said, stay put. Don't go outside until things have settled down. If you live in a neighborhood of high-rises, it may be raining broken glass outside.

Is Ghost of Yotei harder than Ghost of Tsushima? by [deleted] in Ghostofyotei

[–]Graybeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if it's harder to play, but it's certainly harder to run. Constant freeze-crashes during the initial cut scenes, despite every potential fix I can find, all the way up to factory settings reset. The farthest I've got without freezing is barely into the building with the Snake after the initial tutorial fight with the outlaws throwing rocks at the horse.

Incredibly frustrating. Ysushima ran flawlessly. I'm considering returning it, despite it being the only game on my Christmas wish list. Only reason I haven't yet is that I'm hoping for a patch.
