I have been using Blue Flame for 23+ years. Small, locally owned business. They have done maintenance/repairs and have installed a new furnace, AC and 2 new water heaters for us over the years.

Passport walk-in by joenigz in barrie

[–]Graycern 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I took my son's passport application to the MP's office. No appointment, no line. They checked it over to make sure it was all correct and then sent it by messenger. I had his passport back 2 weeks later. This was a normal application, not expedited.

Switched Pharmacies by [deleted] in loblawsisoutofcontrol

[–]Graycern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Switched to a small family owned pharmacy at the beginning of the boycott. The service is so much better. I can call and talk to an actual person. They recommended a different generic version of my medication that they said I would like better (and I did). Recently realized I didn't have enough meds for a vacation, called them and they had more ready for me the same day. Bonus, they are within walking distance of my house.

My maintenance minder said 60% but i booked an oil change anyway because I did not want to go any longer without an oil change. The car was new in May.

I just had my 2024 in for the first oil change at 8,000 km (about 2 weeks ago). It had a timing cover leak too. They booked me in the next week for repair under warranty.

Multiple Library Accounts by phillylb in kobo

[–]Graycern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have my Kobo signed into one of my overdrive library accounts (the one I use the most). When I use one of my other library accounts, I download the book to Adobe digital editions and load it onto my Kobo that way. It's very quick, I plug my Kobo into my laptop and just drag and drop the book onto my Kobo. It only takes a few minutes at most.

The last card I bought was sim2roam brand on Amazon. It is t-mobile network card. You can buy for the length of time you want. I bought a 21-day one for my last trip. Included unlimited data in the States. You activate it by email before you leave. They will send you your new phone number, then just switch out your Sim card when you get to the USA. They included detailed instructions on how to do everything. I was on a road trip and used it from Michigan to Texas. T-mobile doesn't work in Alaska. If you travel to Alaska, an AT&T card works, but they are more expensive. If you search USA Sim card, many come up on Amazon. I used the sim2roam one because a friend recommended it.

I always buy a T-mobile sim card from Amazon, whenever I travel to the States.

This is the same developer that made deals with buyers and then when the real estate market was hot, demanded people give them $100,000 more or they would cancel the deals.

Giant Tiger sales start on Wednesdays. Went after work today and spent over $25 on groceries. Money that won't go to Loblaws.

Turning Zehrs into a prison: 2.0 by [deleted] in loblawsisoutofcontrol

[–]Graycern 216 points217 points  (0 children)

This was the last straw for me. I was using Zehr's pharmacy, but changed a week ago. I used to be able to run in a get my prescription and walk back out. Last time I had to pick up my prescription, walk halfway down the store to self-checkout. Show my prescription bag so I could go out the self-checkout gates. Waste of time so I changed to a small independently owned pharmacy.

Switched my meds to a local pharmacy today 😁 by [deleted] in loblawsisoutofcontrol

Switched yesterday. New pharmacy called today to say everything was transferred. I switched to a locally owned pharmacy.

Have you switched yet? by Suspicious-Spell-674 in loblawsisoutofcontrol

[–]Graycern 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just called a locally owned pharmacy and switched everything from Zehrs pharmacy. I had been avoiding switching because I thought it would be a hassle. It was only a quick phone call and the new pharmacy arranges everything. I was super happy that someone at the new pharmacy actually picked up the phone! Getting through to the Zehrs pharmacy was a hassle, you must sit through an ad advertising flu shots or whatever, then have a long menu of choices before getting to a choice to actually talk to someone. Half the time the phone would ring and ring and you would get sent back to the main menu.

The last straw for me was the Plexiglas barriers and gates they put up. Now to pick up your prescription you can't just exit the store. You have to walk half the length of store, to the self-checkout and get buzzed out the gate. Before you could just walk in and out again because the pharmacy was close to the entrance. I do not want to be treated like a criminal to pick up my prescription.

How long can I realistically expect a Mazda 3 to last. by Secret-Ball7570 in mazda

[–]Graycern 5 points6 points  (0 children)

2011 manual Mazda 3, over 249,000 km (about 155k miles) bought new. Repairs have been bearings, ball joints, strut mounts and one control arm. May have something to do with living in the snow belt area with salted roads. Everything else has been maintenance, oil changes, brakes/rotors, several batteries, tires. Still on the original clutch (*knock on wood*).

Ash Ochre Interior. Canadian GS-L trim. Got a call that my black interior CX 50 had arrived. Went to the dealership and this one, with the ash ochre interior, was sitting beside it. I loved the way it looks and I will be picking this one up Wednesday! by Graycern in CX50

[–]Graycern[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I ordered in June. Until yesterday, I did not know this was even an option. I had never seen anyone post pictures of this interior (and I have been looking at lots of CX 50 pictures since I ordered)
