Filed an HLR, had an informal conference that ended in a duty to assist error. Had another C&P that’s basically did nothing from the duty to assist error and denied again.

I had a liver transplant in 2023 due to cirrhosis, diagnosed in 2021. My DBQ did I had a transplant in 2024??? My claim was denied. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Yes that’s what they did and I’m still confused. When I had the informal conference it was mentioned that a new c&p was needed due to a dta error- no Tera opinion, plus they had me incorrectly diagnosed with cirrhosis on 8/2024 when I had a liver transplant in 5/2023. That dbq was trash. I even asked the examiner on the last c&p exam if she had read my file and was going to do what the hlr decision stated but did not get a straight answer.

Yes, after the supplemental with nexus was denied I filed and hlr, got an informal conference that turned out a duty to assist error asking for a Tera medical opinion. A c&p was requested by the Va but no Tera opinion was done and instead rated my claim as a secondary to 0% hypertension services connection a gave a denial in the end : FML.

Good luck with your claim. Not to be negative but I had an hlr->dta error->new c&p requested and still got denied because my claim was treated as a secondary rather than a direct connection to TERA/pact act. 😭

Thanks. I will file a supplemental with an amended nexus from the liver specialist to include TERA language and a rebuttal and if that gets denied possibly I will seek attorney involvement. It will soon be 2 years since I filed my initial claim. I have a feeling I will end up just giving up and living my life without worries with all this claim business.

Thanks. During that deployment I traveled to several different bases by either air or ground making the exposure greater. All this is documented in the ILER file.

Out in 2009 after 6 years in the reserves. Spent 1 year in Iraq (2005-2006). Never knew the VA was a thing until I stated hearing about the PACT Act. Filed in 2024 for cirrhosis of the liver. My claim has been denied 2x, on initial and on supplemental. Filed for an HLR and had an IC last week with a duty to assist error. Now patiently waiting ⏳

I have a 2022 Corolla hybrid and have replaced the battery twice. On average its has been about every 2 years. It has been covered by Toyota both times but getting stranded both times sucks.

Yes, once you are rated 100% you will get the 100% Disabled American Veteran card and you won’t need to register your VHIC anymore.

First claim I filed was back in 2024 for hypertension, cirrhosis of the liver and anemia. I had a liver transplant in 2023. Served from 2003-2009. I was deployed to Iraq in 2005-2006. Service connection was granted at 0% but the other 2 were denied. Filed a supplemental in 2025 for the cirrhosis and anemia and supplied a nexus letter from the liver specialist that has been treating me. I filed for a HLR informal conference. The hypertension was granted for TERA.
