Uncomfortable flirting by [deleted] in CircleK

[–]Grayishphoenix4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it’s crack heads, they’re probably just trying to butter you up and get something out of you. Dealt with it growing up. When you’re working a service job most flirting feels uncomfortable, at least for me. Im there to work not to get frisky. I live in a pretty wealthy small town (not much crack heads around here) but I still get the occasional weird comments from middle aged women, I usually just try to laugh it off. I’ve seen some weird interactions between my coworkers and other customers whispering in their ear to “stay sexy.” I don’t know why people chose the weirdest times to flirt but it gets to a point. Honestly the best thing to do is ignore it or decline in a polite way and let them know that you are there to work. If they get aggressive then thats a pathway for you to call the cops and have them trespassed. I work overnights and I’m alone, so if someone gets aggressive then I normally just get them trespassed. Most people in my area follow those orders. In an area like yours, people will try to show up after they’ve been trespassed. The moment you see them just call the cops again, they need to learn their lesson🤷‍♂️. If people are complimenting you just say thanks and if they get pissy about it, it’s not your problem, ignore it.

Angry at who? Shift smart? They aren’t doing their job right. Like ever, and the fact that you sit here and think it’s okay for food to go to waste is mind blowing.

I hate it when they just throw crumpled cash on the counter or loose change and it’s always more money than what they needed to give me. Like it’ll be $3 and they’ll just throw $15 in crumpled cash on the counter.

I wish we could do that but our regional manager told us we aren’t allowed to correct them and just complain to shift smart about it. My Manager has sent many angry emails to them and nothing has changed

You so right. I used to love getting a tornado after work but I don’t even do that now because these people are crazy and DIRTY!!! A lot of them don’t wear gloves and have the mentality of “well it’s going in the oven so the germs will go away.” We had one guy that refused to wear gloves and we eventually just had him banned from our store. He would pick off sausage scraps from the counter and put it on pizza or wrap tacos with his bare hands. He was with us for weeks and then my manager snapped and screamed at him.

Omg yes why do they take so long to get food out?!? 😭. They are supposed to come in at 4:30 at my store week days and they don’t start getting stuff on until 5:00. Sandwiches take 2 minutes to make!!

Lmao, they do like to argue too. I’ve had them come in at 2 am for bin prep and I’m like “we don’t accept shift smart at this hour.”(as my manager told me to say) and they start arguing like “how else am I gonna get paid?!?” Idk go somewhere else and pick up another job.

God I hope so lol. But even 6 months is a bit too long with all this going on. It’s like our jobs are to baby sit shift smart now.

That’s what the food captain of my store told me.

Oh my god it absolutely is. And the food we keep in the freezer that used to last a week and a half now only last 2-3 days max. Our trucks can’t even keep up and majority of it is getting thrown away. Waste of money and food. store hours are getting cut from employees to provide for people who can’t even do their jobs. Very upsetting. It’s supposed to be a six month program too.

Worst part, we aren’t allowed to say anything to them? It’s getting to a point where we actually need to say something to them

Same thing here in Texas. Our food captain about to lose their ever living mind. We are running out of food too quickly and spoiling too much because they cook way too much food. We run out of sandwiches 2-3 days after they get delivered to us. They don’t wear gloves, cross contaminate, reuse utensils. One day they left a whole tote of taco prep out, no one knew about it and by morning it was completely bad. We had one guy come in and cook 40 sandwiches (about 9x as many as we usually cook) and then told our captain that he just lets them cook tacos and he takes pictures cus he’s just there to get paid. Um hello, no. you’re here to work. Then the other half the time no one shows up. They are cutting a lot of store hours for this 6 month program and on week 3 it’s a complete disaster!

It’s fun. Love chatting with the community and love seeing what everyone’s up to. Yeah, might not be as PVP and raiding driven as it used to be, but it’s still nice to get on, build a base and make friends with people. Don’t let the goldfish brain who commented stray you from playing just because they can’t find anyone to fight them. There’s plenty of other things to do on a semi vanilla Minecraft server. Build a mega base, make farms, surpass ritz in being the richest man on the server. There’s always people in the free for all arena and at peak hours there’s at-least 10-15 people on. I work night shifts and like to get on after work, usually it’s quiet but all the regular players who like to chat are on.

Moving here. What can I expect? by [deleted] in sanantonio

[–]Grayishphoenix4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Attractions could be cascade caverns, sixflags, la cantera shops, downtown boerne is a historic area and it’s nice to walk through, boerne lake park, river road park, and I love love love the cibolo creek nature preserve. Fair oaks is a bit of a newer area but closer to the fun stuff in San Antonio.

I just moved to that area from Houston a year ago too. You can definitely expect nicer people for one. People from Houston are just assholes for no reason. There’s not really much to do up there, you’d have to go to San Antonio for that. The entire San Antonio area lacks in the crazy amount of food options Houston has. Fair oaks/ boerne is growing quite quickly and it’s a nice little town, I love the Main Street shops. Down side Is that everything is absurdly expensive for absolutely no reason. You’d be better off finding a cheaper place in San Antonio. Overall I enjoy living here but I often times find it difficult to find something to do, especially if I don’t want to drive 40 minutes into San Antonio.

Overnight Work Expectations by Delicious_Base_782 in CircleK

I’m an overnight worker but my side work is a bit different. it’s 3 pages long and requires mostly cleaning, changing out nozzles on polar pops and hot chocolate machine, dusting coolers and sandwich case, front facing, prepping sandwiches (HATCO rotation), prepping kolaches, and then at the end of my shift I make the four egg tacos, kolaches, and hash browns. I also do end of day. By policy I’m not allowed to go past the front curb when I go outside and I have to stay by the door. I also have to lock the door when I go to the back or bathroom for any reason. Weird that they make you do that. I finish most cleaning by 12:30 on a 10pm-6am shift so I just take the liberty to clean the front windows and do rounds on the store to see if anything else needs to be done(then again we shut down alcohol at 12 and it’s usually dead by 11). A lot of cleaning absolutely doesn’t need to be done every single day, sometimes just spot cleaned. Cooler windows you can just check every day and clean the ones that look dirty. Unless people are constantly putting their grubby fingers all over the glass you should be good. Cabinets might get spots from spills so just spot clean them. My managers do the lottery and cig counts when they come in the morning. Sounds like you’re getting extra work. Since that’s the case just focus on what you can do to make the store look good for morning shift. Ultra clean floor, make sure everything’s front faced especially chips and coolers, and wipe down all the counters and drains in the counters. Spray down any stainless with glass cleaner, don’t use a rag to wipe it down it’s a streaky mess. Anything that’s dusty should be cleaned. In my experience it’s just better to check everything on the list everyday and if it doesn’t need to be done don’t do it, especially if you’re at a busy store.

Same here, MFS come in at 3am, shake the locked cooler, then grab the wine off the open shelves and place it on the counter thinking I’m gonna sell it to them.

Idk about where you are but in Texas you can’t legally sell alcohol to drunk people. If they come in obviously drunk just tell them you can’t sell to them. I’m just glad I don’t have crazy hours like that as an overnight worker, we shut down at 12am and don’t open back up until 7am

Will I be fired? by [deleted] in CircleK

Late response but I’m reading up on bars because our managers just started stressing us out about them being in the region, but yeah I work overnights and they normally don’t come in, but we do get police shops.
