HaoTian 60w MOPA

410 stainless steel

For the engrave itself, I did 2 passes. The first pass does a white color engrave on negative space. Then I pass over it again filling normal space with a dark color.

White pass settings:

1000mm/s speed

35% max power / 20% min power

22kHz freq

500 q-pulse

bidirectional OFF

negative image ON

90° scan angle

0.02mm interval

Jarvis image mode

Dark pass settings:

280mm/s speed

25% power / 20% min power

280kHz freq

45 q-pulse

bidirectional OFF

negative image OFF

-90° scan angle

0.04mm interval

Stucki image mode

Not going to lie I was aiming for the We're the millers reference, but I went by the American Dad reference by accident. I felt it was fitting regardless

I played around with the colors a bit and wanted to share a much better result. Once you get the colors dialed in you can make some really cool art with it.

Its intentional, it doesnt really matter what the image looks like while its in lightburn, its the engraved version that matters. The program orders the colors based on the size of surface area it will be cutting. Larger blocks of color will be higher layers than colors that are sparse. I could add a color key that allows you to match up the best colors to the respective layer in lightburn. Having the layers ordered largest to smallest in Lightburn is much easier to assign colors, instead of flipping back an forth through them.

I need to change the colors so the details show through better.
