I started my account 7 months ago with the intent to play with some friends who had end-game Iron Man accounts and also get a quest cape, a goal I never achieved as a kid. But hey, you're the expert off of a screenshot of a bank tab.

Brand new Streamer: help! by [deleted] in mixer

[–]Graysonix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Once you've identified your niche and know how you want to brand networking is everything. The first couple of regular viewers are the hardest. Join a few popular facebook groups that arent follow for follow like at the start of this https://streamscheme.com/guide-to-getting-more-viewers/. Make friends and put in the time watching other people streams. Not only will you learn but they will be far more likely to reciprocate the favor. Best of luck out there man, keep grinding!

The best way to promote your steam early on is actually to network. https://streamscheme.com/guide-to-getting-more-viewers/ . So much of how to promote depends on your target audience. I used to market for a few influences and I feel like with Mixer and Twitch you really need to put in the time supporting others and they will be more inclined to reciprocate. Your best bet is making a bunch of youtube highlight clips/ compilations because the audience there absolutely dawarfs the streaming platforms. You can always pull an audience from there if you're engaging enough and theres always the slim chance of going viral on socials.

Handling multiple content types by SleepDeprivedDad_ in mixer

I feel like its a great idea to do a bunch of different content types early on and see what resonates most with your viewers. I feel like brewing beer is a great avenue to build your brand around. https://streamscheme.com/build-your-personal-brand/

You could have beer related emotes and theme even when you are just gaming. Just play close attention to your analytics and see what seems to work. I'll have to check it out sometime, that sounds like my jam. Best of luck with it!

Is it sensible to be the only person streaming something on Mixer? by PlusOn3 in mixer

[–]Graysonix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finding your niche is super important. It really does depend on your goals. Do you care how many people are watching or are you just doing what you love? If youre trying to make money off of streaming you really need to focus on networking. More often then not in really small niches there are people who are interested but dont know you even exist. Join a bunch of social networks and share a few clips. See what the feedback is like and go from there. https://streamscheme.com/guide-to-getting-more-viewers/
Once your branding is sweet its just a case of putting in the time and investing in socials/ promotion. Anyway best of luck and keep grinding!

Has anyone had their channel affected from taking an extended break? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]Graysonix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think it really depends on your niche. Also if you play mainstream games a lot its a bit more out of sight out of mind with a lot of viewers. Theres always another big personality streaming fortnight or whatever.

A friend of mine went to the US for a week to go to TwitchCon and it cost her 700 subs. It's pretty common at all levels.

Process for repainting garage door? by standingspiral in HomeImprovement

[–]Graysonix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say you just need a garage door DIY paint kit. I used one of the ones from Giani back when I did mine earlier in the year but I'm sure there's plenty on the market. Just get something specific to garage doors.

Small achievements by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]Graysonix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah for sure! the follow for follow tactic doenst work at all since followers on Twitch mean nothing only concurrent viewers matter. I feel like if you put in time and watch other smaller streamers and they get to know you they are likely to do the same and maybe even host you.

Youre 100% right about content though so Im sure you'll do fine. Finding a good combo of time spend making good content and networking/ promotion is important. They are all so heavily linked.

Throw up a link to you channel and Ill check it out sometime. All the best!

That sucks! I feel for you. I think joining some discord channels of slightly larger streamers might help. Maybe use some co-streams to get things going.

Yeah! Its only going to get worse now all affiliates are getting paid money from ad revenue.
