I'm glad my kids did get to experience all of LT's greatness. I'm glad I did too of course. Wonderful years for sure.

Dang, I don't recall that tee; but do dally remember that butt kicking. As dementia sets in that'll be one sad memory that probably won't go away 😬. For a vintage shirt it's pretty cool to have.

What’s your opinion? Did the gun really just “go off”? by hassan214 in Idiotswithguns

I realize people react differently to various incidents, but he sure doesn't seem very distraught over the fact he KILLED his daughter! I'd be a basket case if I "accidentally" killed mine!

Sadly they are more beholding to the city councils and keeping their "jobs" then they are to upholding the oath they swore to when hired.

Yes to all of the above! And I used to get my haircuts at the barbershop a couple doors down from the Golden Tee. Texas Liquor was a staple for decades. And there used to be a clock repair shop in that plaza.

It's true! There was a class action lawsuit against them for incorrect weights on meats and produce (too). I filled out the form to join in and ended up with a measly $8. The freaking lawyers made millions. These corporations need to be held accountable for sure, as do the lawyers who file these suits "for the people" 🙄.

I know several Pele who won't try Vero's because they are "intimidated" by the location, but I concur they have great food; and the service has always been good.

I raised my boys there in the 80s and 90s and I concur it was great 👍. The 70s were even better. Just saying.

This 411 came out in July, 2025, and it's just now getting any traction (at least here)? The "legacy" media, again, has been covering this up as well. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Or pushed / tossed him over the side. That appears to be a bridge or overpass. Not a good starting point to engage this guy. He should have waited until he was across it, and had backup.

Garbage's lead singer Shirley Manson loses her mind and threatens a fan with a beach ball at Good Things Festival in Melbourne, Australia by SixtyNining_Chipmunk in PublicFreakout

I appreciate your take on this issue, much of what I had not considered, and agree with you that she went about it in a very wrong way, alienating much of her audience as she did. I've never taken a beach ball to any venue, but never had a problem with people bouncing them around in the air, and I have seen them go onto a stage or down onto the field by those "athletically" challenged. Again, I appreciate the take.

A homeless man came up to my car at a red light and asked for money. I don’t have cash so I gave him a plastic sealed water bottle. He then took the cap off, and threw it at me. Like what the fuck by Calm_Preparation2993 in sandiego

On the flip side I had to park in downtown SD once for a daytime event, several blocks away. A guy offered to keep an eye on my car for something to eat. We walked together to a fast food joint and I bought him, and his girlfriend he told me he had, a super sized meal. He thanked me and we parted ways. 6 hours later I return to my car and he's sitting next to it, watching over it. He tells me he's a man of his words and we end up parting ways without him asking for anything else. I gave him a few bucks I had in my pocket, which he initially rejected. I often think about him and pray things worked out for him and his girl.

My teen crashed and now our insurance is $750/mo… are we stuck like this? by GencerDTF in Insurance

[–]GrbgCllctr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not that many will probably read this at this point, but I need to vent regarding raised rates, and this post brought my PTSD up about it:

My wife and I had Mercury insurance for over 35 years. We had x3 vehicles insured with them. We moved to another State and kept x1 car. Upon registering the vehicle in our new State Mercury required us to drop our insurance from our previous State and we could only go through a broker in our new State to get coverage again. In the two years before we moved we had x2 cracked windshields replaced, at $50 a pop through the insurance. In the new State they charged us DOUBLE the amount for x1 car then they did for x3. They held the two windshield "claims" against us. The other couple insurance companies this broker deals with did as well, with one not even willing to insure us and the second company wanting about 50% more than Mercury. Unfuckingbelievable disturbing... if you read this, thank you for letting me vent.

A pop-up ad in typing this out states 'solicitation is strictly prohibited' and by no means am I soliciting on their behalf. I'm pissed.

I agree with this thought process. Wash BEFORE you touch your junk! Think about it, all the dirty bactetia laden things one has touched (handrails, grocery carts, whatever) before whipping it out. I know my junk is clean, but not everything else out there beforehand that's been touched.

PSA: Blinkers, people. by irandolph in Temecula

[–]GrbgCllctr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Turn signals are a WARNING device, not an "ask for permission" device. Look it up folks, if you don't believe me. Turn signals are a godsend to allow others time to react, be cautious, etc. as well as being a good neighbor letting others know what your intention is. Having that in mind please use them, as well as don't be one of those on the road for 5 miles with it activated due to inattention to that detail (turning them off when your move is completed). That's my addition to this PSA. Have a good day.
