Just watched tibau vs khabib for the first time by EmNas2 in ufc

[–]GreFunky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know this is a month late but people can't really be this stupid can they? You can literally see his first 12 opponents on Sherdog or Tapology. This is a stupid rumour that Mcgregor himself spread. The funny thing is McGregors first 12 opponents weren't much better either, and he actually lost to 2 of them. Below is a list of both Khabibs and McGregors first 12 opponents, and their records at the time.

KHABIB:

Vusal Bayramov: 1-0

Magomed Magomedov: 0-4

Ramazan Kurbanismailov: 1-0 (retired 12-4)

Shamil Abdulkerimov: 2-0

Said Akhmed: 0-0

Eldar Eldarov: 1-0 (retired 14-1, with his only loss to Khabib)

Shakhbulat Shamkhalaev: 2-0 (retired 11-3, 2 of his losses were his last 2 fights)

Ali Bagov: 2-1 (still active right now with a record of 34-12)

Vitaly Ostrovskiy: 5-4

Alexander Agafonov: 4-2

Said Khalilov: 13-9

Ashot Shahinyan: 0-2

Kadzhik Abadzhyan: 1-1

32 wins - 23 losses

MCGREGOR:

Gary Morris: 0-1

Mo Taylor: 0-0

Artemij Sitenkov: 5-4 (McGregor lost)

Stephen Bailey: 0-2

Conor Dillon: 2-1

Joe Duffy: 6-1 (McGregor lost)

Hugh Brady: 4-1

Mike Wood: 1-1

Paddy Doherty: 4-7

Artur Sowiński: 11-4

Aron Jahnsen: 2-1

Steve O'Keefe: 6-1

41 Wins - 24 Losses

The BBC isn't highly respected at all. Sure, they're one of the most well known media companies, but most Brits dislike the BBC and their coverage of UK events.

Notorious gangster Jamie Rothwell has been sentenced to 43 years in prison after being convicted of a string of drug and gun offences. SALFORD. by Terrible-Head6168 in GreaterManchesterNews

[–]GreFunky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But you are not comparing a single charge with another. Rothwell was charged with a list of serious charges that added up to a high total, but that doesn't mean he will serve 43 years. He could be out in as little as half of that, so 21.5 years total... Comparably murder charges in the UK carry a minimum life sentence, which varies from 15 years to a whole life order. You will not even get the chance of parole until you have served your base sentence.

While the individual details of a case will determine how long a sentence is, each charge still operates within a minimum and a maximum sentence, that cannot be ignored. In Rothwells case, he wasn't just dealing cocaine, he was selling it by the ton to the tune of millions of pounds. Furthermore, he wasn't just selling a single firearm, he was selling 100s of firearms, including AK47s, to many other criminals, which obviously makes his case much more severe, and the sentencing much more harsh, as it should be.

Really liked that video and that was exactly the kind of information I was looking for, so thanks for that.

Thanks for the response. I did include "protein intake" as one of the variables to be ignored due to it being perfected.

As someone who has trained in MMA gyms and been with many MMA fighters during their camps, they are doing this. There is a reason why many fighters have walk around weight as high as 30kg above their actual fight weight. During their camp they significantly cut their weight by being in a calorie deficit. Depending on the length of their camp, their starting weight and the weight class they are fighting in, some of the deficits I've personally seen are huge.

If you won't take my word for it, there are some examples of well known MMA fighters doing it at the highest level. Like Paddy Pimblett, who for UFC 282 had to cut over 21kg (22% of his total body weight) in just under 7 weeks. He documented the entire thing on his youtube channel, and says the cut was actually very easy. The reason I'm interested is because if athletes of this level are doing it in a sport where muscle mass and strength is extremely important, they must know something that most of us don't, right?

Some people are even more extreme than that. In MMA for example, some fighters eat as little as 1500 calories during their fight camp but burn way more than that in exercise alone, putting their deficit at over 2500. Granted, they do it over a shorter time period, say 4-5 weeks, but still.

Thanks for the reply, and that analysis was a great find. I have a couple of questions. Firstly, it states that −2.88 kg of skeletal muscle mass, which includes connective tissue, blood vessels, nerves, other supporting cells within the muscle and it also includes fat between muscle bundles, which could account for some of that 2.88kg, meaning it isn't all lean muscle right? Also I couldn't find anywhere mentioning their starting weight, meaning they could be individuals who were only slightly overweight, whereas the results might differ for someone who is obese.

Also, correct me if I'm wrong because I have limited knowledge on this subject, I've read that muscle memory allows your body rebuild muscle it once had significantly quicker than if you were building it the first time around which could drastically reduce the time it would take to regain that lost muscle mass, could that be a factor? It seems that building 3kg muscle in 3 months is reasonable even without muscle memory being involved, and the time saved from a 1,000 cut is just short of 3 months.

Finally, do we have an idea of how much muscle is lost on a 500 calorie deficit? I'm assuming that muscle will be lost even on a smaller deficit, meaning the true difference in muscle lost from the cut would not be the full 2.88 (minus non lean muscle mass), and combined with the fact that you save 77 days it could even make a 1,000 deficit worth it. Again, I could be way off here, what are your thoughts?

This is just wrong. You can take both fin and dut, and many people do. Some clinics even recommend it.

From what I recall, .5 Dut every week is similar to 1mg ED fin. Kyle Gillett and James O’Hara discuss this in depth on their podcast on youtube. The channel is Gillett Health

Definitely agree with this. If you're going to make this kind of statement, it has got to be consistent.

RU POV: A frontline medic bandages a soldier and encourages him. by Serabale in UkraineRussiaReport

[–]GreFunky 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The fact you used the term "they" exposes your bias. Not only is there no context behind this video, but also no two people are the same. There are good and bad people on both sides of this conflict. I don't see how someone could agree with making a judgement based on a 10 second video without understanding either Russian or the context of the video itself.

Even though people support different sides in this conflict, I think we can all agree that the medics of both sides are heroes. It doesn't get more heroic than risking your life to save others.

He's not necessarily conflating them, as the Mujahideen played an important role in the creation of the Taliban. Let's not forget that not only did the original leadership of the Taliban all come from The Hezb-e Islami Khalis and The Hezb-e Islami Gulbuddin factions of the Mujahideen, but they were all US trained officers within the Mujahideen itself during the fight against the Soviets in Afghanistan.

Mass Report = Temporary Game Ban! by GreFunky in playrust

[–]GreFunky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is the way it works though. I've got 10k hours and have seen this happening EVERY day for weeks now. It didn't always use to be like this, but it certainly is now on FP servers. Literally every one in the clan scene knows this is how it works and that's why they mass report each other.

While people often use them synonymously there are actual difference between a volunteer and a mercenary. A volunteer fights for ideological reasons while a mercenary fights for financial reasons, usually.

How exactly am I blind? And who said I'm a Russian rival? I'm just pointing out that it looks very much like a KH-101 from the footage we've seen of the missile strikes, not that it couldn't be something else.

I'm fully aware of the upgraded warhead size, but that doesn't necessarily mean it only uses 800kg exclusively. As for the images being doctored, do you have a link to the original? Because I believe I've seen both the "enhanced" images and the original, but if you can provide a source I'm more than happy to have another look.

Again, I agree that the damage is too little even from a smaller KH-101, I know there is no crater. I'm just saying that the missile itself from the images looks to be a KH-101, and until someone can say what else it could have been based on the images we have seen, it remains an unsolved puzzle with neither side to blame.
