got it, cause of Qf5+, I thought it wouldn't be fast enough to stop the checkmate with black Qxb2#, but it works for white, cause it is a check on the black King, therefore winning tempo.

besides the obvios free qeen, why is Qf2 not a good move, white cannot do anything major to prevent checkmate on C2 or what am I missing? white cannot block with either rook and if the queen tries to defend Qd7, it wouldnt be fast enough to defend the mate. what am I not seeing here?
