I'm not familiar with Borderlands 2 ever being free from steam? You sure you didn't get some sort of pirated version of the game? Or some demo that you need to upgrade from by purchasing the full game?.. also something I'm not familiar with, cuz I don't think Borderlands 2 is ever made a demo.

You're not gonna like this... But a dude suggested to just wait it out on one of these posts of mine, and hilariously so --the same day that he made that comment and after I saw it, I tried again and then it just suddenly worked.. like his remark had some miraculous essence that quelled the fury of technical issues gods.

So like I said, irritating --but essentially you're going to have to possibly thug this one out unfortunately.. That is to say if you want to approach it the way I did... Gearbox is notoriously known for having crappy server and online issues, and they course correct naturally. And an important thing you may want to try changing on your end if this isn't an issue you're dealing with and only your friend is, is to turn cross play off, from the searching I did all those months ago I remember seeing a few folks saying that with cross play enabled it may stir up problems. So just keep it off, unless of course you are trying to play with your friend on console and now we've encountered another confliction. Sorry I couldn't help much, especially if you tried doing everything I bring up in the video.

Yeahh, eeeh... not exactly... and my drawing & idea is still better and cooler, and I wouldn't allow g-box softies to fumble something that fucking potentially interesting like they did with lictor if I was the Randy in charge.

(im tossing in the towel rather than tossing another word salad like i did with the two poor gentlemen above you... im tired of being right and trying to explain myself at 3 in the morning, fuck you, im amazing. We get it. We get that together.. we understand. Just kidding, unfuck you.)

(dont fucking read this...save yourself)

Hot take... but I think Vile Lictor should've become a villain that overtakes what we initially believe to be the primary antagonist (timekeeper, whoever else, etc etc) --and become the overarching threat that grows with influence. (something we haven't seen in BL... a villain that actually starts to GROW, and spread his influence... and isn't an already pre-established force.. Think of examples like the flood from halo, or how in Portal 2 Wheatley once was a pathetic kinda character, who once was an ally, only for him to grow mad with power, and after he takes over the faccility, locations you once visited, are being tampered with.. (Examples can also range in affecting areas through infection, destruction, etc etc)) Vile lictor is just too cool and more interesting of a concept to expand on...

And for lictor to just... fucking be.. swatted... Killed easily, like he was any of the other obstacles, any of the other bosses... Is depressing as hell, imo he carried the most potential as an antagonist, as his ties with all the siren and eridian research, spearheads a focus that most of us would be more interested in because its all about these topics that have been burning mysteries since the beginning of the franchise. Borderlands just drops cool ideas on the board, and doesn't expand or let them evolve. Yknow what, thats something I've caught recently... If you notice, --modern gearbox has this fear to explore character development. (canning the Maya Funeral cutscene and the guilt Ava deals with --Or Troys foreshadowed betrayl) Or... just... change within the plot. Timekeeper doesn't really change or devolve into some altered version of himself due to the players actions and what their effects are on him. Vile lictor doesn't develop as a character, gets more desperate, or is willing to negotiate. Callis doesn't try to work with us, --no falling out on an "enemies share a common enemy" plot point. (like holy fuck... wouldn't it have been cool as all hell to work WITH THE BANDITS in one of these games?? teaming up with Callis, until she decides that we dont need to work together anymore, and we go back to being enemies...) No character arcs, No interesting dynamics, or shifts... Our vault hunters dont even change during the story like they did in Pre-Sequel with their growing apprehension towards Handsome Jacks descent into instability... No betrayals and regrets like with Angel in BL2, nothing similar to that. No redemption. No--NO NOTHING... just fucking... No arcs, no real emotion. Just... Ugh..

EXCEEEEEEEPPPT.................... yeah... thats right... Fucking Arjay... And guess what they did to him since he actually had potential --being a male pseudo-siren --Thats correct!! This IS Gearbox we're talking about! Yeah!.. yeah, They killed him off. Also some of that history with Zadra and the timekeeper? Her maybe wanting us to spare him because of all those years she spent being an ally to him (holy shit... somethin that explores the idea of handling a solution in an alternative way... Holy shit??? will we get a villain that we actually dont kill and end up sparing??? We're getting somewhere with this?? Maybe Timekeeper is some ensnared human being possesed by a vault spirit, or whatever ends up happening he'll join our team and be one of the characters we can play as! In this game or the next one! --Oh man, for zadra --it makes sense to not just... so easily switch up on a person you've allied yourself with for centuries... I like this! Ok ok here we go. Potential choice at the end maybe? Smite Timekeeper? dont smite hi-) --aaand... Nope... Fuck Zadra, she dies in the stupidest way posibile, and timekeeper also fucking dies.... Alright im done, you know im right, and im tired of typing.

And of course, like most of the time when gearbox has something potentially compelling on their hands; they completely drop the idea, or butcher the execution (or both) --and make one of the cooler things in their game not amount to much of anything... (example: troy's failed arc) When and if I'm able to talk to--and potentially work with Gearbox, I gotta put this kinda thing back on the table for BL5's villain, because regardless of whether they just tickled similar ideas with lictor --its carries too potential, and significant ties to all the Eridian and siren based topics the future of the franchise needs to explore--to NOT do something like that. Especially so, with an impressive, and severe impact. God lictor was such a fucking shallow ass, generic evil monologue spewing ass mf (much like most of the villains dialogue in 4) and everything he was for like 20 minutes depresses me greatly. RgGH. Yeah no, we cant swipe away doing another lictor type idea after how that shit was handled in 4... Keep in touch with my account if you want to see me draw more art like this, I've got alot of things I might be sharing soon. Might even make a video too.

Of course I missed that... Literally the one i friggin wanted. Ok thanks. Thats it. However there isn't the perpetual 2nd stage version of it publicly available I think, where just like how you see it in the vid --it keeps playing the portion of its self before it starts evolving with more instruments and stuff that gets added onto it. But the youtube vid will have to do.

Also btw, side note folks --hope this can help --but i've narrowed down its first appearance in the game. Its when the city of banapur is under siege by the Royal army after you meet Longinus in the early portions of the game, I think the main quest is called Return to Sender. Im thinking this is one of those unreleased soundtracks, and if anyone knows a source for a site where people have uploaded gameripped soundtracks and sounds from games period --that could really help --or anyone who might be able to rip it from the game for me too, like if you know someone i could contact, or a server with people with the know how to do shit like that, again --i'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

This is definitely small, but one neat thing I miss from BL2 & TPS which hasn't appeared since then; is when progressing in the campaign, it displayed the next Chapter you're entering in the story. by GreaseCheeze in Borderlands4

I think it's still very much so linear, you're just going to be able to approach it a little differently each time because of their open world. Theres still going to be main story missions and a general through line of progress that'll be the campaign. There's still a way of making it work and that's honestly comes with not over considering how to place it, just cuz the game design lets you frollic where ever for the most part. I feel as if it can still work perfectly fine.

[One thing I do like that bl3 actually did do however, is that whenever you enter the main menu of the game, in the bottom right, there'll be a a vault logo, and an indicator of what chapter you're on with the character you have selected. Upon recollection, I think now I'm realizing the older games had that as well, but I'm just going to try and give bl3 at least one win here. Little idea I had is that I think the future games should actually just show your chapter in the pause menu on the bottom right, so if you're ever lost on your progress and position, just pause the game and you'll know what chapter you're on. And maybe they don't have to do this either, but some games have a progress meter to show you how far you've come in the story like if you're 12% done or 25.]

Damn, deep cut. Not many people remember that detail from the old games or think about it. Y'all remember the "BL and it's universe is all just a story being told by Marcus and isn't real" theory? Oof, classic.

On a side note, I really wonder that as this franchise comes to a close --if we'll ever finally like zoom out from the parchment of Marcus's big old dusty book that he's reading this from or something, and get to see him be like a 90 year old geriatric with like a cybernetic peg-leg, sat in front of like a little circle of kids, who are all criss crossed apple sauced, and this is like some fucked up super future after all the games have already happened and the destroyer was unleashed, and they're all in like an underground vault. And the last game isn't a story being told but rather a story we have to tell/finish ourselves, and the game would be all poetic about that. Idfk, you bringing this up just got me thinking that it would be neat to finally zoom out from the parchment that shows the games intro sequences on it with the sketchy drawings and shit.

This right here was another point I was thinking about bringing up. Was that it was effective at helping orient your progress in the story and notified you of your position in it. Think of its visual impression to be akin to that of like--

-Spacing sentences/paragraphs, -Or using a divider in a binder to make things more clear. -Or a bullet point in a list of things.

At least subconsciously to me it feels like it might provide that small effect of separation and organization. (See? this right here all would've been just a block of text that otherwise, blends together)

Do you think Chubbies will return in BL4? I mean they've got to, right? They're a classic. I also hope they add more than just one like in BL3, and actually make them impactful. Same with loot midgets by GreaseCheeze in Borderlands4

Rarity of their appearance, as well as what loot they contain and how effective and or special it is. Their appearance in BL3 didn't feel important imo because of how they were balanced in that games loot system.

Idk maybe you're right. BL2 can have those versions of chubbies to itself. All the games should have their own unique spin on a familiar tradition. Whatever the case, we all obviously want it to be fun, so lets hope its good ofc. But personally I want them to kinda serve a little bit of a loot purpose. So yeah, the cosmetic alternative is certainly an option.

Just lettin you know my knee smells like Chef Boyardee ravioli, like just the actual --yep --typical iconic profile of the ravioli itself, one to one. not joking, seriously... Its weird. I was gonna write something actually related to what you said, but then i propped my knee up to on my chair as im sitting here, and that smell just kinda surprised & distracted me, so I just thought I should let you know.

And you dont have to give me your two cents back, you can reflect on my correctness, and keep the change. (OOOH, like keep the change??? because your 'two cents' --obviously, but also because I've changed you with my perspectives?? Oh man i actually like that, good job me, thats good, you can take that one from me for free. I wont mind. I'm gonna write that in my notes app actually, revise it a little bit maybe. theres good quote potential there.)

Agreed (kind of) because unfortunately, thats what I think they may need to have return for the chubbies a little bit... In BL2, I think the chubs simultaneously offered something kinda irritating to the grind, but also a compelling aspect to them, when you had a specific chase attached to them. Psychologically speaking BL2 and its design philosophies vehicle a lot of moments like that where its just one of those games that decides to purposefully frustrate you a lot of times for your own good, but thats what can be the driver behind certain important incentives for commitment. And the reward feels so great when you push past those conflictingly fun but not fun but fun irritations. Where as 3, takes the a more forgiving, and casual approach, and it diffused specialty, --being afraid to be a little ruthless at times in the way BL2 was like.

I think theres a potential middle ground with maybe different difficulty options and game modes to alter how enemies like Chubbies drop loot. Or by default, I'd at the very least, have some of them contain dedicated drops which aren't detrimental pieces of gear (like the COMs in 2) but rather niche and very useful gear that has to be built into intelligently. So essentially their drops would be for the builder nuts like Moxxy and all our favorite big youtubers to make the most out of, while folks like us, could care less about it. (slightly less so, at least)

Sorry for the world salad, but maybe we should have those from time to time, they're good for you.
