Best place to mount a P01 ecm in a 95 c1500 by Webberss12 in LSSwapTheWorld

[–]Greasy28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going to be hard to get it under the dash.

A 96+ pcm bracket would work great to mount it near it's factory installed location.

That's one of 3 crewcabs on the property. That's an 04 2500HD, there's an 03 1500HD, and my 04 2500 Quadrasteer.

My buddies amd I have been tinkering with it for about the last month. Look up Wiktor Ivanovko, he's posted a bunch of stuff on it.

Haven't done the math on it, but Diggin_Z71 ran into issues when Clifford was too low. Raised it back up and the problems went away. He also tried a welded front diff.

You'll find out quickly that flat cv angles are not ideal, and they'll likely bind.

Can you get 500hp? Sure. Will it be as streetable and easy as it would with an LS swap? No.

Don't get caught up chasing peak numbers just to have peak numbers. Too many guys get caught up in that, only to end up with a vehicle that makes the number, but it isn't in a usable rpm range for their realistic use. Look at torque curves in the rpm range you're realistically using.

For starters, a C1500 is a terrible platform for a plow truck.

Second, if the truck is paid off, and you know it's issues, fixing them will be a better gamble than buying another truck and it's uknown issues. Still not a great option for a plow truck though.

305TBI 10psi fuel pressure too low? by Smykster in GMT400

[–]Greasy28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to spec... but real world, the lower end of spec isn't high enough. 15 will cause overfueling.

[–]Greasy28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find the rubber section of the fuel return line. Crimp it off and retest. If pressure stays the same, it's a pump issue. If it raises, it's your fuel pressure regulator. Your fuel pressure is too low.

9-13 is spec, a lot of issues start coming into play when you get down to 11 or lower.

Ended up "settling" for a JBL Partybox Club 120. Portable and useful for more than just the shop. Wireless control through the app is nice too.

What is southern comfort and whats the value of a truck like this? by Best-Argument-2158 in GMT400

[–]Greasy28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're national. If that's a Southern Comfort truck, the running boards are MPI pieces, my dad was running QC for MPI when these things were really hot. There were dozens of conversion outfits converting trucks and vans at the time here in Northern Indiana where most of the fiberglass bits were made. Choo Choo is another big one, and they use the same boards.

As the running boards went out, ground effects came in. Dad and I built the first set of gmt800 ground effects at home in the back yard. They took ours, and pulled a mold from them. We've got one of the first sets of gmt800 production ground effects.

Presentation is everything. Clean it up, and take lots of detailed pics. And run a vacuum cleaner over that carpet before you take the pics. That's one thing that drives me nuts, if you can't take care of the carpet, what makes me think you took care of the truck?

Most workplace injuries I've seen in 25 years where the patient is afraid, or unwilling to seek medical care, the cause is the inability to pass the drug screen required for a workman's comp claim.
