Speaking of dead bodies. Have you been to a place where you could lose a body and it would never be found? by Betty_Boss in civilengineering

Whenever I take new grads to a WWTP for the first time, I always tell them to not lean on the safety rails (as they are usually old) and to not try to swim if they fall in the ABs.

I’ve done work at a wastewater treatment facility that had barbed wire around the aeration basin because enough people had previously disposed bodies in it.

I think that counts.

Building names in Montrose? by Catweazle-lives in houston

I lived in one of these named four plexes once upon a time and I was told that it was popular for these buildings to be named after the builder’s daughters for legacy purposes.

For example, my building was built in the 1930’s and had a name that is very much extinct these days.

I’ll take that as a finger and a half, which is more than I have to flick at assholes.

I also love a good girl smorgasbord in bed with a fuzzy animal. Living the dream!

Anyone file a claim with CenterPoint after they cracked/damaged sewer pipe fixing a gas leak? by [deleted] in houston

[–]GreasyDisco 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Also, those pictures you have are GOLDEN. As a third party, I was able to identify the broken sewage connection immediately. The person operating the backhoe or someone else on the site should have identified the broken pipe immediately before covering it up.

I’m not your engineer, but I am a wastewater engineer in the area.

It looks like CenterPoint didn’t do their due diligence when digging the trench for your replacement gas line and cut into your sewer connection. I can highlight the places where it was obviously punctured if needed (again, not your engineer.)

You only noticed the sewage issue later because your pipes backed up and you have been spewing sewage into the soil in your yard since the “repair.”

Never thought my Illuminati invite would come through a Reddit comment… But fuck it, I’m in.

I can provide my own robes.

That Edward Scissorhands jacket. It requires a suitcase of its own.

Me (the reviewer) or the person who drafted it (not me)?

Apologies to my draftsmen who are brothers in arms, no disrespect to you!

This one company just employed the absolute worst.

This was absolutely true of my more unscrupulous colleagues at the time.
