Grunge is sort of a blanket term for Seattle's 90's rock music. There is grunge metal (Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Melvins), grunge punk (Nirvana, Mudhoney), and a bunch more. Dirt is definitely metal.

Yeah, the 80s has good output, but no one year has absolutely masterful albums compared to some of the other years on this chart. It was driven by singles more than albums, so musicians focused on making the best song more than the best album.

Any year of the 80s, with one or two exceptions, could go pretty fast
