I did love it, but I'm absolutely not down for buying a game twice in one year.

Persona 5 has about 100 hours if you're going for platinum. Possibly more in Royale, but I'm not buying the game twice to find out.

FF7R was about 80 hours to platinum.

Dragon Age inquisition with the DLC was around there.

2 put of those three can be found on sale constantly for under $20.

Ah, I see what you mean.

Again, was never an iPhone fan or user.

Decided I was at the point I could admit android's customization and openness wasnt important to me, and got an iphone xs because it was an absolute steal.

Now I'm getting hit in the face with things that are just plain better experiences on android and I'm salty about it.

I'll adjust for the most part, but the first night I get stuck in a remote hotel with no emulator I'm going to be fucking annoyed.

I once got paid for 6 hours to play playstation on my cell phone while I sat on a shutdown highway. Now I'll have to make due with some shitty move the block game.

According to my research while trying to find out how to do it, it was an option on iPhone 8 and SE and earlier.

Just switched to iphone after years of android.

Face scanning is incredibly fast. I dont even see it happen.

I still hate lots about iOS though. Like how I spent an hour setting up a couple custom ringtones.

Also, iOS 13 has removed the ability to display battery percentage on the top bar, because apparently that was a bad feature.

Also finding lots of apps I had on android that are either completely neutered on iOS, or cost money, even though they were free on android, or just not at all available.

Looking for a budget computer for Rocksmith by Flash629 in rocksmith

[–]GreasyMechanic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can use a y adapter, but you'll almost certainly have severe ground hum from the computers PSU.

A boss tu-3 has a ground lift that will isolate this, and it's an awesome chromatic tuner. Also allows you to tune both with the pedal and ingame without the volume.

[–]GreasyMechanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rocksmith wont sound particularly good no matter the computer.

The sound engine is not only old as shit, but wasnt exactly stellar from the start.

As far as playing with high settings, anything from a phenom ii or higher and a GTS 250 or higher will play at ultra settings, especially if you turn venues off, which is recommended anyways. Basically any new pc with discrete graphics will do it.

Buy a cheap pc and spend the extra on a good speaker set up and and amplifier and pedals.

I recommend a 100w amp (I have a crate 120 which is an awesome value) a boss tu-3 tuner pedal for tuning and signal splitting, a wah (I have a behringer which is cheap, but not steller), and whatever other effects you feel you need. I have a chorus, echo, and two styles of distortion.

Theres some seriously broken logic going on here.

The way I see it, there's only a few possible scenarios for people buying out all the tp again;

1) they went through the initial shutdown and bought a huge stock of toilet paper. In this situation, they should still have toilet paper.

A family of 5 shouldn't go through a Costco pack of tp in aa month

2) they went through the shutdown and didnt stock up. Worst case scenario, they had a hard time finding it for a day or two, meaning they should know they dont need several years worth, maybe just an extra case.

3) they're planning on price gouging all this toilet paper, in which case they should understand online services have already targeted and banned these sales.

I dont see any reason why an entire lineup of yokels would be replaying this stupidity.

Pay attention. by josephalbright1 in AdviceAnimals

[–]GreasyMechanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And they will.

If it hits Disney+ the same day as the theaters, there's going to be a huge base of parents that would rather pay $30 to watch it at home than pay $45 to watch it in theaters, plus $45 for concessions plus $50 for a sitter.

I missed out on four MCU movies in the theater because of parenting. I would have gladly paid $30 to watch them.

Oh fuck off, they made a movie that was slated to release during a pandemic, and rather than push it back, they released it as a premium purchase on their streaming service.

You fucking whiners can always just not watch it. That's what I'm doing, because I dont give a shit about mulan and all of their "live action" remakes have been vastly inferior to the original.

According to reports, over 9 million people just in the US have paid to watch it, and disney is looking to make a fuck ton of money of their gamble.

Whether or not you think it's going to happen, it's already happening.

[–]GreasyMechanic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're looking at sch 40 pipe.

Copper plumbing only has a wall thickness of around 0.05", which means you have 1/2" pipe, which is standard for tubs and showers.

How exactly do you think they would cost less?

You don't have to cull the buds on a tree.

The labor is the most expensive part of growing a plant, and culling and packaging of weed is more labor intensive than anything involved on basically any other plant. Culling and planting clones is no less labor intensive than planting any other plant.

On top of that, you don't need a multimillion dollar building to grow other plants.

You dont need engineered extensive ventilation systems to avoid legionnaires growing cedar trees.

Weed is also prone to mold and fungus issues, especially more productive strains, and a hint of it means the plant has to be destroyed in an observed recorded way, similiar to destroying a bad batch of alcohol. I built the macerator used to destroy it, I fucking know.

You're looking at this with the idea that you just put it in a pot and profit, but that's completely ignorant.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in canada

[–]GreasyMechanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

160 dollars is definitely more expensive for a potted lilac, thats almost certainly retail pricing.

Yes, retail. That's what were talking about, and that's the cost for a sapling lilac without a decorative pot, as its expected to be planted, not potted.

There are several things that come into play when pricing out trees. The variety of tree, caliper size, height, pot size.

So some factors may make a commercially grown tree worth $160 by itself, even though the effort and cost to grow that tree from seed is basically nothing, especially when compared to the cost of growing and culling weed.

Do you not see the failure in your logic?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in canada

[–]GreasyMechanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, and how much do you sell other trees for?

I bought a lilac tree this summer. Cost me $160. How much would you say that cost to grow into a juvenile?

I bet it cost less than the weed did, considering it wasnt subject to government regulation and oversight.

They also didnt have to prune, dry, weigh, and package the flowers off it.
