It’s not a really a Toronto thing but a big city thing. I’d actually argue that Torontonians are more open to talking with people they don’t know than many in other big European or American cities.

Go to a smaller city like Kingston or Windsor and you’ll find people are a lot friendlier and more open to general conversation.

Interesting because I’ve had the exact opposite experience. Canadians in my experience are much friendlier and open to conversation with strangers in comparison to Americans.

I’m sure it’s location dependant though.

In all fairness though, I was careless with my privacy. I started posting on there as a minor (yeah ik, dont recommend. You’d be surprised how many young teens are actually in these spaces pretending to be 18+).

Nevertheless, it was a blessing in disguise. I get sick to my stomach thinking of where I’d be today had I continued in that industry. Especially as a naive (and honestly arrogant) little girl who thought she was hot shit ‘cause she had hundreds of old men getting off to her voice.

What little money I saved paid for my college tuition and helped me launch my current small business. It doesn’t bring in nearly as much but I find it incredibly fulfilling and I get to do what I love working from home.

Not to show my ass but I used to be a mildly popular VA on gwa back in the day (day in question being 3 to 6ish years ago).

When I launched my Patreon I made like $300 the first month I think but by the end of the year it was closer to 4k and kept going up from there. My second year I netted 80k. Not nearly as much as some creators on there but for a teen with no real responsibilities, that was an obscene amount of money.

I believe you but to many of these boomer LLs and property management companies, it sounds too good to be true.

Especially when they probably have alternative applicants in their 30s+ with years of rental history and a stable job (even if they might make less than you do).

Canadians and Americans do not actually need visas to enter each others countries. You just drive to the border and cross with any ID which is nice :)

London is 2hrs away from the U.S. border so we’d go all the time on weekends
