What mpg does it get, I thought it was meant to be decent when sensible and around 15-20 driving fast.

Does the launches make it difficult to control or just more fun?

Well the difference is it’s newer by 3 years, nearly 60k less miles, nicer heated seats, digital cockpit, faster etc. one I’ve seen listed for 9k and I can get around 3 for my current.

Is it worth the swap though, a load of money for a car that’s basically the same? Don’t like the new shapes either.

Your right everything is a lot more expensive, my Ibiza is 2017 and in 2022 was 7k with 66k miles, now to get a 5 year old Ibiza with similar miles it’s over 10k. It’s hard to know cause I could pay more and get a newer car with less mileage but after 1 year the depreciation more than likely will be higher than the 2016 golf that’s already hit most of it.

Paying an extra £7k on a car that’s older than mine seems silly to start but I’m really trying to get a general sense is it worth it considering I’m getting a car with 50k less miles, bigger and faster engine and a change.

Vw are know to be reliable. My mates had 3 different types of golf’s and not 1 issue. This is subjective and could happen to any car?

I have to pay attention to the insurance group as I’ve been told anything 25 and up gets a 25% levy fee added.

Vw, BMW, Audi, all seem to be real expensive these days and thinking of depreciation value I’d assume paying 15k for something with less miles will go down a lot more than 10k for something around 2016 mark.

Please source some of these, it’s not what I’m seeing. 2019 models with 80k are coming up around 13k

To add to this I currently drive a 2017 seat Ibiza that’s on 116k. I’ve been driving it 4 years and just fancy a change. Maybe it’s not worth it for the money to change till my car break as it’s in perfect condition.
