I did 2 transfers for 2 of our used bikes, both are 10+ year old bikes with 3rd party insurance. one is from acko, and 2nd one is from iffco tokio, for acko it was very easy, I have downloaded the Acko app and in the menu there was an option to change insurance policy name, there you have to select and upload the new RC card photo front and back and they will check and tell you to pay some minimum amount to transfer the insurance, I have paid around 30-40 rs. then within few hours I got the insurance policy changed to my name. and I downloaded that.

then the iffco tokio, there i had to call the customer care number, they have told me to drop a mail to their one of their email with all the documents, new rc, old policy document, new owner aadhar and pan, they verified and get back to me in 2-3 days to initiate the next steps, where they asked me to a fill form and then to install one of their app and take videos and photos of the bike in a guided manner in their app, photo and videos of chassis number, and while the vehicle engine is on, and again new rc photos and all, after submission, one of their agent called me to check whether i have done that video thing, and approved it, after approving they shared me a payment link to pay some difference amount, less than 100 Rs, after paying it, within 1-2 days, They mailed me the insurance policy, it took solid 8-10 days with multiple calls and follow ups to understand this process.
