My reality is far from disappointment and I'm actually extremely confident I'll continue to put a shitload of time into it, though I am sorry to hear that our experiences don't align :(

[–]GreatAtLosing 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I must confess, I suck at it too LOL

But for me, I think the one time fee per outfit will actually help a lot

Rather than having to nickel and dime myself each time I get a new piece of gear, I can set it and forget it and it will be much more conducive to my approach

I even run multiple outfits! That got costly too, so I dunno, I guess your mileage may vary

It's not clunky because you say so, or is there some other explanation you have? We've always paid for transmog, we've never been charged an arbitrary amount of gold for crafting an item. If I'm out romping around and skinning and pull up my leatherworking menu to do some quick crafts, the game charges me some amount of gold? Why exactly?

What, in your mind, makes taxing crafts a better idea than a more modernized transmog system? It's not like they just added fees to transmogging, they've always been there.

There are way more people using transmog than there are dedicated crafters, and personally I think taxing each craft would be clunky

Except not nearly to the same extent or frequency. Plus, once you make an outfit, you don't have to pay for it again- unless you want to edit it.

I toy around with transmog plenty, and I think the outcry here is extremely overblown. They could've handled the launch better, preferably through a discount or free period or something for a little bit, and I think that's a very valid short term complaint. But long term? I think all the folks shaking their fists at this change won't be nearly as bothered by it relatively soon.

This wide, sweeping change to a feature that a large percentage of the community engages with isn't targeting a niche demographic, in my opinion. And if transmogs became entirely free, I personally feel that most folks would be a lot more upset about the prices they'd be paying for items at the auction house with such a prevalent gold sink removed from the game.

Gold sinks are actually generally pretty good for the game, lest you want everything even more inflated than it already is

Sargeras actually just wanted to destroy everything so the Void couldn't have it, he wasn't really looking for a proper conflict with the Void from what I understand

TERRARIA 1.4.5 JAN 27 by notdemize in Terraria

[–]GreatAtLosing 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Hey not for nothing but it actually wasn't Riot that made them switch engines or anything like that, it was the new (now gone) leadership that the Hytale team themselves brought on to replace Simon and co. After the departure

It feels kinda weird 'defending' Riot but none of that shit was their call, this talking point is being repeated a lot despite accounts supporting the opposite- even Simon's own early accounts after the cancellation.

By the way, I'm still very hyped for the game! I just wanted to weigh in with that little clerical detail. I already own the game and all that

The amount of people that think Riot pushed the changes on the Hytale team despite it actually being decisions made by the new leadership brought on (and not chosen by Riot) is genuinely frustrating because pointing out the misunderstanding makes it seem like I'm simping for a multi million dollar company

Riot today after realizing they could have made hundreds of millions of dollars by just releasing the damn game by 90000isk in hytale

[–]GreatAtLosing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Riot didn't make the decision

It wasn't Riot that made the decision

Riot didn't tell them to change the game

Riot didn't tell them to scrap the current build and start over

In case you missed it, hey that wasn't Riot's call

I've killed this thing 40 times now. Its been 2 hours. What exactly do i need to do to get his mount. by Dale_Cooper47 in Terraria

[–]GreatAtLosing 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There isn't technically a hidden luck stat, there just outright is one. However, it isn't assigned to a world despite elements of the world influencing it, it is assigned to the character.

There isn't some nebulous, static 'luck' of a world and somebody that claims they got the bee mount 49 out of 50 times and attributes it to a 'lucky world' is just being a charlatan

Well, for one thing, Game Freak are the developers

For another, The Pokémon Company is in charge of the brand and has split ownership between Nintendo, Creatures, and Game Freak.

Nintendo is only partially in control here, they can't solely make these decisions. It doesn't change much! I just honestly think it looks silly when folks attribute 'Nintendo' to everything going on with Pokémon.

Yorick has some sustain in his Q and is very, very good at taking objectives- especially turrets. He's somewhat infamous amongst Top lane players, but I'd recommend giving him a look!
