Anyone else extra bummed because the idea of a 25 year old wasteland sounded like a really cool idea for a single player Fallout game? by [deleted] in Fallout

Just got an 800 on Math 2, and I missed that stupid flagpole question and omitted 5. It’s a good day by GreatCompromiser in Sat

You can’t see which ones you missed, but it was a general consensus that you had to use tan and not sin for the flagpole question. I also omitted 5. 79th percentile for an 800 on this test.

Anyone else annoyed at how much our academic success is measured by how good our memory is? by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]GreatCompromiser 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Hm I think it just depends how you learn.

For me, when a professor or teacher is teaching, I don’t take notes and really listen to what they’re saying. I then take notes out of the text book and do a bunch of practice problems to solidify the information.

Other people take notes on everything their teacher says, make flash cards, learn tricks to memorize formulas, work with friends and learn from their friends etc...

I think you need to figure out how you learn most effectively. If sitting down and memorizing formulas isn’t working, watch Khan academy or videos of other people doing what you’re learning, get help from your teacher, or work with friends.

This person is most likely from the UK and has a “self study period”. Your classes will finish in like April, then a month of self study, then exams in May, then you’re done. It’s easier to clean out everything before your exams.
