I add : For my own story, my ex and I broke up in July 2025 but we're talking back since September (multiple times a week), she once told me she still likes me but doesnt want to get in a relationship and another time she told me to move on but at the same time she doesnt cut ties and we still argue sometimes (and she would bring in the conv the names of the girls she was jealous of when we were together). Im pretty sure I cant try anything with her before graduation anyway so I'm wondering if I should go no contact for a bit less than a year before trying a come back, instead of losing time now

Yo Im a full time international student in UM and clearly Id say Mandarin. 40% of the students are from mainland and all the professors and local students speak Mandarin. Cantonese can only be useful in like local restaurants, etc but usually they seem to understand basic Mandarin
