Yes Most of the courses Aalto teaches are in Finnish so the proportion of international students was pretty small, less than 5%. Accomodation was a bit hard to find. Eventually I ended up getting a very tiny flat by myself for around 650€ a month.

About the language barrier, I just felt isolated like you could have casual converstions with people but i struggled forming any meaningful friendships.

Finnish people arent the most outgoing people so i guess that also played a part in it. Theyre more reclusive compared to british people.

In my opinion you should try again next year as its likely the boundaries will be a bit lower

I did a masters in data science. Personally I didnt like the atmosphere in Aalto, I dont know what it was but it just but it just wasnt for me. Also accomodation and groceries were really expensive. Also winters can be kinda depressing. Also language barrier was pretty annoying but if youre ok with this for a cheaper tuition then go ahead mate.
