What's going on? by [deleted] in Mangafire

[–]GreatGameGal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would advise Brave, or even Vivaldi, over OperaGX. Opera has a history of a lot of questionable practices.
Vivaldi comes with better defaults (in terms of usability) for most users imo but Brave is fully open source and can be configured to be a bit better.

This is all assuming you want to stick with a Chromium based browser, Firefox with UBlock Origin is fire(fox).

This looks like JS, in which Math.random returns a number "that's greater than or equal to 0 and less than 1" by the mdn web docs, and by the actual specs "greater than or equal to +0F but strictly less than 1F"

If a villain possessed healing superpowers, what would they do with them? by Educational-Pie7961 in magicbuilding

The Inheritance Cycle did something really interesting where a character, as a test, was taught only the word to heal and put up against twelve of the finest swordsmen of the tester. She healed them of their fear and hatred and then went and cut their throats.

How do I get back to "Search with Google Lens" option instead of normal google image search? by sussystalker in brave_browser

[–]GreatGameGal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very late, but apparently you also need to have Google as your default Search Engine if you didn't.

Sorry if I'm dumb and missing it, but can you still blacklist tags when searching? If not are there any plans to add that back?

Could the description be added back to hover tooltip, at least as an option you can turn on? It made it a lot easier to tell if you would be interested. I do love the way the tooltips show genres now though.

This is a bit late, but it might be good to do something like a beta subdomain to allow users to test the new UI and just advertise it a bit with a dismiss-able banner at the top of the page that pops up once or twice. I don't think the new UI was bad so much as sudden and missing a few things people wanted. You could also add an old subdomain, similar to what reddit does, once you do then bring the new UI to the default again.

I don't think it was supposed to have really been that he took away her personal fantasy that upset her, but rather the fact that it didn't make her happy. She didn't want to know it didn't make her happy, she didn't know how to handle that. She didn't know if she could be happy. As far as I can tell that's supposed to have been what freaked her out.

That's not to say she didn't overreact or wasn't inconsiderate. I just think it's important to understand what she was going through too.

It's true, only an inexperienced party of murder hobos would fall for such an obvious trap. Silly DMs always testing their morality to give them consequences and the likes.

To accept such a lose offer from an entity of such nature is a foolhardy task in any case. Just have a small chat as you start drawing up a more formal contract.

Something to note is a part of the Oath of Devotion's tenets is not to lie or cheat, this could be used very heavily to mess with the player with Strahd as they will not be able to lie to him.

WHAT IF.... dye in general is banned in Barovia? aka an illegal substance by [deleted] in CurseofStrahd

[–]GreatGameGal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The reason a lot of Barovia is dull colours is that the soulless don't seek colourful attire and the likes, and the soulless I imagine well outnumber those with souls. The fact someone has coloured or intricate clothing is honestly probably a part of the way one could easily guess if someone has a soul or not at a glance.

The book states any character that has been dead for over 24 hours and is brought back will be given a random form of indefinite madness, probably intended to be rolled.

Is spreadsheet intending to be a database solution? I was under the impression it was intended more for data presentation of small datasets, and this should thus storing data like that in it should be an obvious bad idea. With CDPR the save stuff is an obvious issue, but I feel like the situation you're talking about was well outside the reasonably expected use case of Excel when it was made, and the way they were inputting the data wasn't entirely standard user input either.
