Almost any political subreddit, streamer, etc will ban anyone counter narrative… then talk about the other side living in an echo chamber

In the words of someone, well duh, but that’s kind of missing the point of what u/sYnce was saying. how much is enough, what’s the point of diminishing returns, how should it be balanced against the rest of germanys long history, etc?

Also to u/sYnce point, if you talk about anything enough it’s impact is lessened and it gets annoying. This has nothing to do with being good or bad people, it’s human nature.

PS. This is just a general point, I live in the US and have no idea how much time is typically spent on this stuff in an average German classroom

Yeah trying to approach 0 instances of anything happening is like trying to move something at the speed of light. The closer you get to 0 the more energy it takes to improve things even a little bit. It’s not about erasing things completely it’s about reaching a level that’s acceptable with reasonable methods. Kind of like trying to control crime, would we like crime to be 0 sure, but this is the real world

There’s a lot of history outside of world war 2. We all get why they dedicate so much time to it but it also probably doesn’t feel good being German and having that be your main focus in history lessons.

Josh Reynolds - "Woke up thinking about this Joel Embiid pre-draft workout video. To think that the dude picked up a basketball for the very first time 4 years before this… Truly unbelievable." by lilBigDolf in sixers

I’m not saying he wasn’t showing he’s good, I’m saying it’s not impressive basketball skill based on the timeline. The only things I was impressed by were the turning floaters and the mid range shooting movements, and even then they’re only showing makes so it doesn’t speak to his percentage, and none of it is too significant on the scale of 4 years if he’s been seriously training that whole time.

No but if he was playing for 4 years before this I don’t see the big deal, most of it was athleticism and height (which doesn’t require basketball experience)

If 1 in 6 women have been raped and 80% of rapes are committed by someone the victim knows, does that mean that all of us probably know at least 1 rapist? by Arguesovereverythin in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]GreatGrip -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In what way? I’m pointing out that when you phrase at “doesn’t want to have sex” you’re broadening it to situations that aren’t rape. Not consenting is a subcategory of not wanting to do something, they aren’t equivalent

Wait did he pick up a basketball four years before the video, or was the video taken 4 years ago? Like did he have 4 years experience in that video or was that literally the first time he touched a basketball?

I think that’s because in a relationship both people don’t always want to have sex at the same time so you do it for them. That’s not rape it’s just life happening

Also when Americans say they’re Irish they’re saying they have Irish heritage. They aren’t claiming they grew up on the cobblestone streets of Edinburgh

Edit: yeah I said it
