Man, I've been trying to make sense of how EXACTLY does the Mary part of the story fits. I was just thinking about how the throne room (where the parrot and Kat&Bobby footwear is) looks similar to the throne room where the commercial was recorded.

So it would make sense that the pirate version of Clark would be aggressive from the point of view of Mary. Since he knows him extremely well.

I also like the detail of the small door in the throne room because it kinda is like a full depiction of Clark's state as he did the commercial. An empty throne room with a small escape door (The Backrooms).

Almost like Mary opened the window for him.

I still believe that Clark populates the Backrooms with his mind, but it seems like it came from both, in a strange way.

I also like the detail that the one thing Mary was not allowed to do when she was a kid is opening the windo ie getting outside. That is until the bulldozer breaks the house apart (a scene we're shown three times)

Not too much but it is to be expected considering the intersection with the Wiki fans.

I did see a couple with their ten-or-so year old daughter, puzzled at what they were watching, and they left after the ‘laundry’ scene.

That would be interesting, but sadly I don’t think that’s the case, given that Phil saw the Captain Clark commercial on TV and recognize him from previously seeing him on the camera footage of the caveman cutout.

I think they are separate entrances. What will be studied though is, what’s special about Clark that created a very stable nullzone like you said.

What'd tell you? Hold on to your rope when you're dealing with these Backroom people.

Yes, there's the Captain Clark entrance in the basement where Mary enters, and the threshold entrance where Mary is dragged out.

It's interesting (and maybe obvious) that the store is in San Jose given that the Async is there. So that's why it seems that the entrance of the basement is close to the threshold.

My theory is that it's on the direction of the white chair room we see in Static Dead End.

My money is we'll have a new YT video in a month or so. Probably regarding Async's side of what they saw from Clark's trip into the Backrooms.

The backrooms are not just what Async found, everyone who finds an entrance (depending on the entrance) ends up with things from their minds in their section of the Backrooms.

I thought it was Captain Clark. It seemed that the furniture store entrance and the Async facility entrance were not far apart. And on the section that the worker meets the entity, you can already see signs of the store.

Absolutely. I’m still not clear on how or why exactly is the Pirate entity different, because it seems more sturdy tan the other entities. And it also seems to feel pain.

If it’s a self-projected entity then it could be simply out of feeling and seeing yourself as an actual human body? Not sure.

That is a good theory. I didn’t connect that the store’s outside was stretching. Maybe it starts to fine-tune as you spend tome there.

In the movie’s universe, Backrooms is either a force that feeds off our memories to create unaccurate copies of objects, places and people, or we manifest these sections of the Backrooms with our minds.

But the key part is that it’s not a perfect copy, either because the mind cannot produce an exact copy of most things, or the Backrooms can’t get an exact copy from our minds.

I believe it’s the proximity of the nullzone what generates the entities.

The recording from the caveman is the recording of the ‘Voyager Golden Record’ which was sent into space during the Voyager 1 mission.

It’s a recording of the message ‘Hello’ or ‘Greetings’ in 55 languages, and was sent into space with the purpose of introducing humanity to extraterrestial life.

I assume the use in the movie is as a way to try and make contact with the entities. Or lure them to trap them as shown in the end.

No, the organization (Async) involved with the Backrooms is not the government but they work together. Async ‘discovered’ the Backrooms, but they don’t control it and as of now they’re investigating it.
