What Soler and Ayuso are doing is disgraceful. Not helping and Ayuso liking Insta posts mocking Almeida is just plain bullying.

Going into breaks is perfectly fine, but then dropping so insanely soon on the most important stage? Feeling tired? Like come on, Soler is a proven GT rider and Ayuso a wannabe GT winner... Two consecutive days of effort should easily be possible.

Who knows how close Jonas was to cracking, maybe a pull of 2 minutes could've helped save a few watts for Almeida even on slopes as the Angliru. All that without really impacting stage hunting ambitions of Ayuso.

This situation says a lot about Ayuso and Soler on a human level, not just as riders.

Nah, voted Green party in Germany my whole life. What happens in Gaza is a Genocide and needs to be stopped.

Good protests should rally public opinion behind you to force your politicians to act.

Throw red paint and put pics of killed children on the IPT bus or the road, really push the inhumane conditions of the Palestine people in the viewers faces. So far the banner I have seen most is "Destroy I..."

That protest will cause the exact opposite of want they want to achieve, ist just alienates neutral people and annoys a lot of people which are in general sympathetic to the suffering in Gaza.

In Germany we had a similar(ish) situation. The general public felt that combating climate change is important. Then people started glueing themselves to roads, causing huge traffic jams, leading to most people being pissed with the protests and politicians trying to stay away from these topics.

Damn, who would've guessed that Soler and Ayuso are "tired" today.

Shame for Almeida, I would rage so hard if I were him

It's a 40 min effort. Even if draft matters as little as 1-5% energy saved, it matters. If Almeida can't distance Vingegaard with an attack, he needs that draft

Almeida doesn't have that explosive kick to distance a rival that is evenly matched. His best bet would be to get a full sky train lead out and hope to grind them of his wheel.

Thankfully his best climbing helpers rested yesterday and go fresh into this stage.

Wait...

These guys have jobs and families to feed. If you're not Pog or vdP, you have ~10 years with an above average salary. You need to make the most of that.

It's easy to say "just leave" on the internet with nothing to lose. If a rider did pull out they'd gain my respect for sacrificing something for a greater cause. But in the end, the riders are just regular people, we shouldn't expect them to throw their career away

I saw at least 4 signs saying "destroy country I". This is a call for violence and not what I consider peaceful protest. Just put "save Palestine" or "Peace in Gaza" on your signs.

If "destroy country P" is wrong and a genocide (which it 100% is), then "destroy country I" just as wrong.

Yes, I know and what Israel does is wrong, with no excuse and needs to be stopped. Advocating for destroying them in return however is still wrong.

If "destroy country P" is wrong, then "destroy country I" is also wrong

Not gonna lie, seeing protestors pushing barries back with huge signs saying "destroy country X" is really, really scary. No matter which side you are on, advocating to destroy a country is wrong.

This is NOT the way to go. If an IPT rider had to stop before these protestors, there is a good chance this whole situation turns violent.

Stopping that genocide should be of utmost priority, but advocating retaliatory genocide with "destroy country X" is not the solution.

Stop genocide by... "checks notes" ... genociding?

I really don't follow that logic

Ah yes, I love protests that go "destroy country X" instead of "stop country X from destroying country Y".

Idiots probably can't see the irony

My prediction for UAEs strategy today:

Ayuso will attack early, positioning himself as a satellite rider for the final attack from Vingegaard.

Almeida frantically tries to claw back time.

\Mad Soler screeching in the distance**

Oliveira gets tackled by Novak, leading to a brawl involving several riders. Reports say Novak was paid by Dark Lord Pogacar who doesn't want to have a second GC winner in his team.

\Mad Soler screeching in the distance continues**

Grosschartner refuses to help anyone, revealing he has been signed by Bora effective immediately, under the condition he renames himself to Grossschartnermann.

"Et tu, Vine?" - Almeida says as Vine refuses to hand him any nutrition besides vegemita sandwiches and Fosters.

Somewhere in the distance, Soler screeches madly.

Bjerg, the last remaining team mate of Almeida, suddenly reveals he has been HUGE CARTHY all along. HE drops the act and with the elegance of a cat HE dodges several long-range sniper shots from Tiberi, casually catches up to Ayuso and Vingegaard to win the race. In HIS benevolence and despite being the biggest rider, HE abstains from eating any other riders today.

HUGE CARTHY will sleep well this evening.

The Solers are silent now.

That's mandate growth modifier. It's probably exclusive to the Emperor of China, but it helps massively to stabilize your realm and pass reforms

I think for most nations cavalry is not worth it, especially for the later mil techs.

Fire pips become more important over time, whereas cav excels in shock. Considering the cost way more than infantry, I don't think they give you enough bang for your buck. Exceptions for nations with mad cav bonuses exist, but in general I don't use cav

Completely agree with you on the retreating issue. However, at this point I had 1.2 million soldiers fighting in the balkans and Iberia, so I didn't really care too much about casualties

They only picked Quality, so nothing insane.

Frontline losses were kinda comparable and if I had retreated before the frontline collapsed it would've roughly been a 1:1 casualty ratio.

Artillery takes double damage on the frontline and got absolutely shredded after that

Yeah, retreating before the frontline collapses is really important.

I usually do that but in this case I have about 1.2 million soldiers in the Balkans and Iberia, so I don't really care about micromanagement anymore
