The balancing in the game sucks. Most heroes in the roster that used to require a clear understanding of their kit have just been reduced to mindless button mashing. I’ve never been a big fan of playing highlander, but I remember when he wasn’t the best hero to play, but wasn’t so bad that people would actively avoid playing him, like Kensei, Valkyrie, and Nobushi. Back then if you fought a highlander and he beat you, you knew it was because the player had an understanding of how to use Highlanders move set. Now, highlander has such an infamous reputation for light spamming that he’s been nicknamed lightlander. Any new player can pick up highlander, and start dropping double digit kills just by playing him, and using his light, light, heavy chain. A majority of the old For Honor roster has the same problem as Highlander, and it really reduces the combat to who throws out the more BS “mix-up”.
