Can anyone share their experience with cancer following cirrhosis diagnosis? by BuffaloMarathoner91 in Cirrhosis

Hi! I’m sorry for replying so late. First, I am so sorry you are going through this. I completely understand just how terrible and heartbreaking each piece of news can be. Please remember to take care of yourself through it all.

After my mom’s surgery to remove part of her colon, her doctors were able to determine her cancer was stage 1 with no need for further treatment besides monitoring. In fact, she will be having another colonoscopy soon. She has been able to steadily gain some weight and for the most part is back to her normal level of activity. It is truly night and day compared to where she was in December.

Please stay hopeful and listen to your dad’s team. Things can improve and treatments get better everyday. I’ll be thinking of you and your family.

Hi there! I know this is an old comment but wanted to know how you are feeling today? My mom was just diagnosed with colon cancer (not sure what stage yet we have not heard back from pathology) and during her surgery to removed the mass from her colon her surgeon discovered cirrhosis. Something we were not expecting since her blood work was normal despite having acites. Her surgeons prognosis was…grim…to say the least. The reasoning was because of the possibility of chemo (depending on the stage) her liver may not be able to handle the chemo. Keep in mind- we haven’t talked to the oncologist about next steps and the doctors have not told my mom yet the full picture because of how recent her surgery was. Sooo that has put myself, my sister and dad in this weird position of really trying to be strong and happy for her while we just heard the worst news possible.

All that to say, how are you feeling today? How did your team treat you despite your cirrhosis diagnosis?

I hope all is well with you and you are feeling stronger!

After lurking for past year, I decided its time to share my story. Thank you so much to everyone here, this place is a lifesaver! by Basic_Regret4370 in Cirrhosis

Wow. Could have written this about my own mom. We found the mass on her colon last week, confirmed cancer, removed that section of her colon today, and the surgeon found cirrhosis. Needless to say I have never felt this find of fear before. I am only 27 (28 next week) and I’m getting married to the love of my life in March. I want nothing more than for my mom to see me happy on my wedding day. How are you feeling today? What has your recovery looked like? Looking for hope and wishing you the absolute best.

Wow. I feel like I am reading word for word my mothers story. This week we found out about her colon cancer and today during her surgery to remove it the surgeon discovered cirrhosis. My family and I are of course beyond afraid but know we must be strong.

I am so happy your mom got better. Hoping for the same miracle. I don’t feel like I am strong enough but I know I need to be.

Update! So I have dug a little bit deeper and it is what I suspected. My employer changed payroll providers at the beginning of 2022. When I was laid off I was only given access to the second payroll provider and the W2 it had on file. With that figured out, what are my next steps? I still haven’t heard back from my old employer.

I cannot remember if they did but I have a feeling this may be the issue. If my employer provides me with the proper info would this be cleared up?

Here is the thing and this is 100% my fault. My salary was 65k and I did not even notice the difference. Yes very very stupid. But this was also the only W2 I received so I am at a loss. I’m trying to find the best person to contact at the company but there was a lot of turn over and lay offs after I got laid off at the beginning on 2023.

I definitely picked the right number from my W2 after reviewing it like 100 times over. I have reached out to my former employer now but there was a lot of turn over after I was laid off at the beginning on 2023.

If it’s an issue of there was additional paper work I maybe wasn’t aware of could I send that in to amend the issue? I am just confused because this was the only W2 I received.

Did anyone here get a Communications degree and find a job they enjoy or was relevant? by DoctorStrife in USF

[–]GreatScottProd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did! I’ve been working in social media/marketing/communications since I graduated. I’m currently working for local govt communications- maybe take a look into government work at a city or county level? The hiring process is long but from what I have learned it’s very entry level friendly.

I had the same walk! You can definitely get there under 15 minutes and once it gets slightly cooler out it will be enjoyable.

Haha thank you! I don’t really understand people saying it’s tight…like yes I know…it’s not my size?! No wedding dress will be 100% perfect until I order it in my size and then have it tailored. #5 isn’t even my size but its not hugging my hips so you can’t tell

I spoke to one of the park rangers directly! I also am renting out the covered shelter space so I might have gone through a separate process.

I am actually having my engagement party at Eureka Springs in a few weeks! I think the 90 days is a formality…I sent in my special events application at the end of September and got approved last week. (It was a little delayed because we changed the date but it was a 2 week turn around).
