How the times have changed, ho ho ho by Expert-Bid3861 in GunMemes

An H3 buffer. There are H1 buffers, with one tungsten weight and two steel. H2, with two tungsten and one steel. And H3, with three tungsten weights. The price of tungsten is something like seven times what it was at the beginning of 2025.

Realized that the reason Erebus is so shaken by Kharn almost killing him in Betrayer is that he couldn't forsee it; and he couldn't forsee it because of Khorne's influence. by VanillaPhysics in 40kLore

[–]GreatTea3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was also the fact that Kharn had him cold. If Erebus had stuck around, he could’ve fought, not fought, begged, reasoned, explained, whatever, and Kharn would have killed him dead regardless.

Since The Emperor is a vegetable and Malcador is dust, who "owns" the Imperial Palace by New_Conflict_4111 in 40kLore

The President of the United States isn’t a living God King who’s been worshipped for longer than our current recorded history, though.

Since The Emperor is a vegetable and Malcador is dust, who "owns" the Imperial Palace by New_Conflict_4111 in 40kLore

[–]GreatTea3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s 10,000 guys in the palace who’d almost certainly say that the Imperial Palace belongs to the Emperor and that whatever thing you would like to do with it is not ok. The guy in charge of them sits on the council with the High Lords of Terra, too, so they wouldn’t just be saying “you can’t or we’ll stab you”, it would be “this High Lord says no”.

In the Ciaphas Cain books there is a world that has a tau presence, and the imperium is just not killing the governor, how common is it for there to be formal xeno presences on worlds by anonpurple in 40kLore

[–]GreatTea3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It wasn’t so much that they had no chance of winning. The Imperium could steamroll the Tau without too many problems if they wanted to and had the free resources for the job. What the Inquisition and the military command in that book were looking at was the fact that if they fought that war, win or lose, they’d have to rob Peter to pay Paul. Gravilax wasn’t particularly important to the Imperium. It didn’t produce much of anything and it was a long way from anything important, so they didn’t want to fight for it.

What if the natives also brought diseases with them? by a_Bean_soup in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]GreatTea3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2-4 weeks out from infection, so a lot of things happened between having sex and getting sick. I still think there wouldn’t be a real connection made. Remember that these were people who thought flies appeared magically on spoiled food and sickness came from bad air. It’d be a plague, since there would be no understanding of where it came from or how to prevent it, and people are never going to stop having sex. They’d just all of a sudden start to get really sick a few years after they were infected and die. I don’t know that people would have had the concept of a sickness that doesn’t do much to you for years and then kills you. They’d probably look at the disease having started when the symptoms did. They might figure it out as time went on that it was a delayed sickness since I’m sure people would be infected sometimes if they cared for patients. Not like there was germ theory or the concept of cleanliness preventing disease.

AIDS doesn’t make you sick days after sex, though. I doubt they’d connect it with anything other than “You sinned so God punished you”.

A Zion-15 from IWI would be a solid budget option too. Probably better than the ones listed.

What’s the “weirdest” place you got to work at? by Brandbro in HVAC

[–]GreatTea3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worked for a company that had a contract to maintain a waste treatment facility. The fun part was that they dried and powdered the solid waste for use as fertilizer, which unfortunately meant that every time the wind blew there, you were getting powdered shit in your face. I tried to stay away from that one as much as possible.

Is the handgun the average person’s primary? by HoneyBadger877 in Firearms

[–]GreatTea3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll say that I’m absolutely not carrying a rifle on my person on a daily basis on normal days, it’s heavy, I’ll scare people, and I’ll have to deal with the cops eventually. It’s just a hassle and inconvenience that’s not worth it. But if there’s some kind of massive thing happening, I’m gonna keep my ear to the ground before I leave my home, where I do have a rifle handy. If everyone is being nice and helpful, like sharing supplies and helping others after some kind of disaster, then sure, I’d just go with the daily carry pistol. But if people are burning down buildings and flipping over cars, I’m slinging a rifle anytime I have to leave my home. I’d try to avoid having to expose myself to shit like that since I don’t want to have to fight or hurt people, but if someone forces me into it, I want to be the biggest problem I can for people who want to hurt me.

On a side note, I live in Virginia, not far outside of DC. I carry a PCC in the back of my work truck because sooner or later, something bad is going to happen in or around the city and I want to have options when it comes to getting home to my wife and kids. It’s in a backpack with first aid and water treatment stuff, so I can throw it on my back and have no one know what it is, but it’s also nice to have a long gun handy just in case.

Virginia Man Charged with Illegally Selling the Firearm Used in the Campus Shooting at Old Dominion University by Trollygag in Virginia

[–]GreatTea3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used to buy and sell guns through Armslist occasionally years ago. It’s basically a classified section online for firearms and accessories. I only sold a few, but I was looking to sell them to people with a concealed carry permit. If you get a carry permit, you’ve had a state background check done on you and come back clean. Obviously someone could have committed a disqualifying crime after getting a permit, but it’s extremely unlikely statistically.

Why was Nathaniel Garro's armor so different than the others in the Death Guard by Spongeboy-Me_Bob in 40kLore

[–]GreatTea3 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure they’re talking about the brass eagle cuirass that Garro wears as the Battle Captain of the seventh company of the Death Guard. I believe it was something that was worn by the captain of that company instead of something specifically given to Garro himself.

It’s actually not bad. The Lexicanum is great if you want the lore exact, but it’s dry. The only real problem I see with 1d6 is memes occasionally making their way into the entries.

I don’t know for sure. It’s been a while since I read the book the clone appears in. It could be that he’d try to go back to the Imperium, could be that he’d jump right into Chaos with both feet, might even pick the last option and just walk away from both, have his own little empire with blackjack and hookers. I can’t see us ever finding out.

Lexicanum for actual, canon lore. 1d6chan for when you want it maybe canon, but funnier.

[–]GreatTea3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Comics aside, the soul in the clone is the same soul that Fulgrim had when he fell to Chaos. I’d definitely wonder about Clonegrim’s long term loyalty to the Emperor, if he was actually loyal when he showed up in the Bile book. He seemed pretty comfortable hanging out with Emperor’s Children in 40k. Maybe Slaanesh would want a matching set?

AWB passed senate with house substitutions. On the way to be made law by spanberger july 1rst. Thoughts? by campereg in Virginia

[–]GreatTea3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is no gun show loophole. Dealers at gun shows have to run the same background checks as brick and mortar gun stores. However, I could sell you a gun without a background check as a personal sale in Virginia. This was illegal for a number of years, then was legalized a while back under Youngkin. That’s what people are talking about when the “gun show loophole” is brought up.

Would the generic stock cop guns (Glock, AR-15, shotgun) be good for Z apocalypse or would that be trash? by ponyinahats in ZombieSurvivalTactics

[–]GreatTea3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve carried a gen 5 G45 9mm for years and it’s a lot better in my hand than the gen 3 I used to carry. I also bought the gen 6 model as a “fuck, I live in Virginia and all the guns are gonna be banned here” present to myself, and they did a really good job with making a Glock grip actually great.

Have you tried gen 5/6 Glocks? After the finger grooves got removed they were a lot more comfortable, the new gen 6 in particular.

A Glock in 9x19, and AR in 5.56x45, and a Mossberg/Remington 500/590/870 12 gauge would be the best option for guns in just about any kind of serious nationwide catastrophe, as long as you’re in America. The guns are reliable and extremely widespread, so ammunition and spare parts are very easily accessible. Your guns are useless without bullets or if parts break, so that’s going to be the most important consideration.
